It's just simple, I'm pregnant and I would love for my husband to be here with me while giving birth in December.

Congratulations on getting your expedite request approved. As another user said, God is really awesome. You are really, really lucky that USCIS and your embassy has been understanding of your situation.

Yet another friend of mine I met today and said why is it taking so long for u one of my friend went in 6 months. I said it must be a fiancé visa so she said yes they were married but didn't declare their marriage. I wanted to break something. Why is this process so freaking unfair!! I m so so angry right now. Only illegally can people go so quickly and they are happy. We are paying the price for following rules. I wish I wish I hadn't been so stuck up on this visa and had went on tourist or fiancé visa.

I have people asking me all the time what's taking so long with my process. There are success stories of married people getting to US faster but still it is a fraudulent way of doing things and once someone rats on them, the consequences won't be good I believe.

Have you checked and verified that your IV packet was matched to your case? One of the concerns mentioned here is the possibility of getting them misplaced or the applicant penalized without the IV fee cover sheet .

Yes. I called and they confirmed having received two packets. The lady didn't say anything when I said I had used the AOS cover sheet. So let's hope everything goes smoothly! You're making me nervous now :D Why would these people tell you to do something that might jeopardize your case? Oy... Well we all know this whole process is messed up. Nothing should surprise me at this point :P The best of luck to everyone!

Btw my AOS packet was scanned on July 10th but no action on it yet.

Hi CoolGirl: Congrats on case completion. I can imagine how relieved you would be. You need to wait for an interview letter from the NVC, After which you need to book your dates for biometrics and medicals. This is where you can schedule your biometrics and passport pick up point.

Digression below:

(We had our I-130 ready in October 2013, and only submitted it to the Chicago lockbox in April because I thought I had to prove a 6 month residency in a foreign country before filing a petition, and because of the way my visa renewal worked out, this pushed us out until April. This was before I found Visa Journey and all you helpful people.

After consulting with an attorney, this turned out to be totally untrue and was only the case when DCF was still available in France. In any case, even if I only filed in April, it still feels like we've been waiting forever. It could have been so much worse, with a longer wait at the USCIS stage. I guess I need to count my blessings!)

I totally know how you feel. We were married in March 2013 but it took forever to do all the research and figure out which documents need to be sent, etc. I met with a lawyer and he was a total dingbat, so that took more time and money. I stressed myself out about the fact that we hadn't been married for very long and thought it would be best to wait and compile more chat logs, more phone records, another visit, etc. We didn't file the I-130 until September, but it does feel like we've been waiting just as long as the March filers.
