Hey all.

I'm beyond pissed off at the moment. I get social security benefits and I was waiting 30 business days for a response regarding AOS. I GOT an email with a checklist for the income. I called NVC and the operator told me to write N/A as Ss benefits are not taxable income for most recent income. Would that mean that in the future NVC will ask for joint sponsor later on? She said another 30 days from the day of submission. ?

FedEx is my best friend! I decided to send my packages because EP was slow when I sent my AOS package. :clock:

But... EP may be a little faster now since fewer people are doing EP because we thought EP was slower. :bonk:

EP is cheaper because I sent my AOS and IV packages separately so it cost me $90 to FedEx them. :dead:

If you're doing EP, make sure you double-check your attachments before you send it. You can easily miss some attachment files. Oh, make sure your attachments are not too big or password protected.

Great, thanks for the tips. I am not doing EP, it seems people still have lot of problems with it. Just saw a post in October filers thread when someone found out after 30 days that their email needs to be sent again.

I remember someone mentioned in the July NVC thread, that if you open "completed" DS 261 then it will reset the clock.

My question is: on http:.//ceac.state.gov I can see a summary page where DS 261 is listed as completed since I filled it out this evening, AOS status is listed which is in the process of being invoiced, and IV fee which will be available sometime after 3o business days. If I don't click on DS 261 "COMPLETED" I should be fine correct because I still need to track my AOS and IV fee and documents status?

I hope my question makes sense :help::help::help:

I just don't want to do any blunder from my side by clicking DS 261 and re open it accidentally. :bonk::bonk: :bonk:

Yes, you can go to the summary page without any problem, but DO NOT click on where it says "COMPLETED" for the DS-261. I speak from experience. ;)

That's why I called to make sure they got the email. I figured EP was the lesser of 2 evils lol

Hi everyone I'm new to this forum ... I'm also waiting to get my case approved but sadly today we got an email from NVC and they said that currently they have tons of applications to be reviewed so that the current time to get my case completed will be at least 60 business days !!! I feel terrible !!! I will keep calling them but still is a long time :-(

My husband just talked to Oscar at NVC.

He said we should call NVC again if IV invoice doesn't come by next week..

We submitted our DS261 on June 5 and so it will be 2months then.

But my husband said Oscar sounded like he was pretty sure we can pay iv fee next week.

So maybe one more week?

Well, everyone, (reporting from Westminster, MA tonight on our road trip - going to spend the day in Boston tomorrow... man, when the time comes I'm going to ACE the civics exam for citizenship!) we got our CASE COMPLETE!!!!!!:dance::dance::dance::dance:

I can't believe it! We hadn't heard a word since July 20 or 21 - no false checklists, no real checklists, nothing!

We did EP, so if indeed they've speeded up with that because more people are back to doing snailmail, that could be why we got so lucky...

But here's my theory. I think that somehow our I-129f got through (we filed it months after our I130, when USCIS was completely mired) and they felt like they had to hurry up... the operator I spoke to seemed a bit confused and unable to see the actual dates when things were accepted and/or approved, but she said that our file was just waiting for an interview to be scheduled at the embassy in Canada.

Since I'm on the road and have a certain amount of difficulty checking things online right now, do any of our Canadian friends know: if we get an interview scheduled, is there any protocol to contact them and see if there's any chance that we could reschedule to when we're actually in Montreal anyway? Because that would be sweet!

Either way, I'm so SO happy! What a great surprise!

Sorry to hear that the backup for everyone after us has gotten even worse... I just hope they're trying to "under-promise and over-deliver" and you'll all get case complete soon!

Congrats! Lucky you. Hope you have a September interview. :)
