Hi guys,

Just called NVC and came to know that they are reviewing my AOS and IV Documents.

So how long does it take them to review it?

The use the term "reviewing" from the date they scan your documents. They tell me I have documents in review since July 9th. I then ask, does that mean they have been physically allocated to an individual who is currently reviewing the documents, or does this mean that they are waiting to be allocated to someone for review. They then usually tell me it's waiting to be reviewed.

Just ask for clarification, then you will be told 60 days.

No police certificate is needed for Mexico. I recently spoke with multiple people who had interviews in the past few weeks/months and they did not send one to the NVC, nor did they ask for it at the interview. :)

Awesome, thank you!!

I never understand the logic of assigning case #s etc within 2 weeks but making those who need CC wait month+. Not like we've been at NVC stage for 6 months already!!!

Called last night took 30mins to get through and waited 1 hour+ on the phone only to hear the 60day bs.

You should call NVC and demand to speak with a supervisor. Its already past their 60days usual quote.

Did that yesterday...same BS as always: "It was submitted for a supervisor review on Friday and it's being worked on." I told her, "aren't you a supervisor? Couldn't you just do it right now?" I bet you can guess what her answer was...

Anyone here with two cases at NVC (i.e. wife + stepchild)?

Mine and my daughter's cases were linked by NVC last month.

Hubby was able to pay my daughter's IV fee last week and I filed her DS-260 form yesterday but mine still not available. I called NVC and the rep Olivia told me its linked only to have the interview at same day (I thought we would have everything released at same day)

Can anybody share their experience with two cases?

Thanks!

I have applications for both my parents. Same experience as yours: the forms are not released on the same date.

So 5 and a half hours after I started trying to call, I finally was able to get on hold now. In the process of waiting. We took a few breaks to watch a couple shows. It was originally saying "Cannot detect the phone number" or something along those lines each time calling, but then this time, it went back to simply saying "busy" when calling. After about 10 tries, we got through on hold now. I dont necessarily know if it is a skype problem or if NVC keeps records stored of how long it has been since each number has called but I tried calling other US numbers on skype to test and it worked fine right away. So, either Skype was glitchy for just this once instance or something is up with calling NVC in too short a time interval. I just thought this was kind of an interesting thing so I would share in case anyone cares.

Anyway, before I could finish typing this, I got connected and was able to ask all of my questions. For those of you who are interested or those of you who may read this at some point and benefit from it, I will tell you exactly what the NVC operator told me.

DS-260 is still coming quickly after IV payment. She said expect to be able to pay in about 3 or 5 days.

Since none of our AoS documents were ever actually reviewed, she recommended updated everything to reflect the most very recent information. So, it looks like I will be asking my parents for about 2 more months of bank statements and financial asset statements and to re-do all of the calculations on their I-864 and I-864A. I will need to also adjust mine accordingly.

Since the I-130 packet documents have already been reviewed long ago, they were already sent out to the Tokyo embassy directly yesterday, so they do not need to be recreated or submitted by us. I suppose they get priority over non-checked documents to be sent out. It seems like it would make sense to just send them all at once but I suppose since they did not check them, there are some legal reasons behind it, or simply following the bureaucratic order of things as usual.

Anyway, it seems like we just need to work hard to re-make the AoS ASAP and fill out DS-260 and then we can request an interview. Judging from another VJ user timeline, we may get an interview in a month or so if everything falls into place.

I - 130 sent 2014-04-18
