Sometimes it's due to the address having to be put in a certain way, and others who are abroad had issues obtaining them due to the foreign address.

To clarify: I've downloaded transcripts from Barcelona and I think London. The address on my most recent transcripts is in the US but I also downloaded at least one transcript from a few years ago which lists an address in Europe. Note that all the security questions to authenticate before I was allowed to see and download my transcripts were for US addresses and phone numbers from some years ago.

Even while overseas, it's probably worthwhile trying to download transcripts before requesting them by snail mail.

I'm the USC petitioner. My wife is British (now a USC!!!), generally awesome, and amazingly patient.

Well, I almost hate to say it, please don't be mad at me VJers.. but we got our case number and invoice number by email today, is that normal?! So weird but anyway we filled in the DS-261 now just waiting for our AOS Bill to come up to be paid.

Quick question. I put my husband down as my agent but they will still send stuff to both of us, won't they? No big deal if it just goes to him as we live together anyway and the US Bank accounts are his so payments will need to come from him, which is why I put him down.

Feeling very fortunate this fine Tuesday morning AEST.

I am the beneficiary. My husband is the petitioning USC.

Finally got through, waited 40 mins to speak for 2 mins. Why do they keep changing the dates for when the documents were received :/

Every rep gives me a different date for my packages :( I don't know from where to start my 60 day count

I was being all positive, but now I just wanna cry. Why do I even bother calling them for, I should just quietly live through this

Hello everyone...this morning I called NVC & to my surprise...it went through on the very first dial...I couldn't believe for quick seconds & literally looked at my phone, if it was the correct number :) then after waiting for good 25 minutes, the rep tells me that our case got completed! And she added that the next step would be to wait for the email for the interview date...she said that August is pretty full and they won't be sending email until September...which I've no clue what she meant, but anyways for now...I'm relieved...I know I should be happy right now, but since I've waited for too long, missed my 1st anniversary and all these waiting games with NVC, has made me kind of numb even to be happy..now that the case is complete...I don't think I will feel 100% myself and 100% happy until my husband arrives here....but thank you so much for all the support and strength...you guys rock!! Saylin...special thanks to you...for making this journey easy...and good luck to all of the rest of you..hope you all get your cases complete very soon & meet your special someone :)

P.S. I'll still be around...I ain't going nowhere hehe :)

From reading people's previous posts, it means you have case complete. You should call tomorrow and confirm!

Good luck, hopefully its good news!!! :D

I think this means your case is completed.... Congratulations.... You did it.

Depends on when you sent it. If it's near the 60 day mark, then I would hold off but if it has been about 2-3 weeks and you have other documents which will need to be submitted after then sending it in won't hurt at all. I sent my 2013 return with w-2 and it was accepted, didn't need to send in a transcript.

Sounds like a case complete to me!!! Congratulations! Please make sure to call and confirm tomorrow! Good luck!

Congratulations. When was ur last scan date?

WOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOO CONGRATULATIONS call for the heck of it but you have your CC so very happy for you wow what a feeling that must be. :D

That's a sign of case complete :dancing: :joy: call NVC when they open and confirm.

Congratulations, looks like you have case complete, call and confirm as soon as NVC opens. It is not taking the full 60 days, it took you 53 days?

I just thought I would let you all know what happened in case anyone is curious.

I called NVC. Got a really nice operator but forgot her name. She told me that she actually wasn't sure about my questions regarding IV and DS-260 so she put me on hold for a couple of minutes and confirmed with her supervisor. It turns out that I had to pay the IV online. I have now paid the fee and it says IN PROCESS but I am still unable to do DS-260. Most likely I have to wait for the payment to clear which will probably take a couple of days.

Here's the part that makes things complicated. My AoS packet physically arrived at the NVC in early July but they still haven't actually even looked at it. They are have no information on any checklists or anything. So, they will just be sending that entire packet directly back to us and we have to bring it to the interview along with the IV packet. The crazy part is that since they are so backed up, they won't even be able to physically ship it out to me until September 10th. So, the operator told me that it would most likely be best to simply remake the entire AoS packet to bring to the interview. Luckily it contained no original documents that I can't get again but I will need to print and sign all forms and everything again. Judging by another user's timeline who recently also was expedited to Tokyo embassy, the interview will probably be roughly a month from the date they approved the expedite which was 3 days ago... so I think I will have to be on the safe side and re-gather all of the AoS documents. It is kind of a pain but I honestly would rather do that again 10 times than have to wait several more months.

Regarding the other questions I asked:

She said if ESTA visitors get temporary Alien Numbers that are later deleted, she said say yes to the question and then mark "do not know" next the number

She also said to put the cell phone number in rather than check "does not apply"

Knowing all that, I think we are pretty much good to go other than gathering everything again. Hopefully we don't make any mistakes.

Well, I'm happy you got your answers from the source and that you are well on your way. I know it's a pain to have to do the paper work again but your almost done, not like the rest of us. Please remember us in your prayers.

God bless you and a smooth and speedy interview with a nice CO. :)(F) (L) (F)

Hello All

My Wifes father expired 3 months back and we are still stuck at NVC stage. My wife is going through a very tough time right now.

Can I file NVC expedite based on the above situation with the necessary docs

Please advice

Thanks for the help !!

Bobby

I'm so sorry for your wife's loss and being so far away makes it even worse. I would try the expedite but please don't put much hope in it. I had to come back because both my parents are ill and their response was "Your a US citizen you can leave when ever you want." They are heartless but it's worth a try. I'll be praying on my side they have compassion and will give you the expedite. (F) (L) (F)

Actually, something just occurred to me. The email from the Tokyo embassy says the following:

"The Next Steps:

We will send a notice to you once we receive the immigrant visa case file from the National Visa Center.

If all of supporting documents are in the file, we will schedule an appointment for your visa interview.

If you need to present additional documents at time of visa interview, we will inform you. Then, you may respond to the notice to request an appointment as soon as all documents are ready."

However, the NVC told me on the phone that all of the documents (my AoS packet) I sent to them will be sent directly back to us and to bring it to the interview. So when the embassy says that the "case file" will be sent to them, do they mean the I-130 stuff? Does this mean something else? They told me that it will take until Sept. 10th to send out the files to me directly and to make a new AoS... I am really confused about what exactly the procedure is from here on out and both parties seemed to also not be very informed when I called either of them and there seems to be some conflicting information, unless I am misunderstanding the meaning of "case being transferred" vs "documents being sent". Can anyone shed some light?

I'm sure someone has answered you but just in case that seems like standard e-mail and yours is a special case an expedite but you should call the Embassy to make extra sure. :D

I would like to know your advice, I am a Jan. filler and I have no news up to now. what do you guys think should I call USCIS to follow up or wait more?

I think we could help you better if you filled out your time line so we know how long you've been waiting at USCIS etc. If it's a long time yes call but they will give you a standard answer. Contact your Senator or Congress person have them send a letter to inquire after you call it might help. Good luck. (F) (L) (F)
