I am no expert but just a couple of suggestions...first I would call NVC ASAP...if they will not release the IV invoice or the DS260 for you, possibly send in a check via mail....maybe also ask Tokoyo if they will accept the paper form of DS230? There has to be a way around it but probably first step is contact NVC with the expedite information...best of luck to you....

Sorry, perhaps I didn't explain well. IV fee is now available to pay online but the embassy email told me to pay at interview. However, they also said fill out DS-260 first, but I can't do that until IV fee is paid. Embassy said to just call NVC but they aren't open for a few more hours so I just wanted to see if anyone knew what to do before I called. I decided I will just wait and call before doing anything else so that I don't mess anything up. Thanks for the input though!

I - 130 sent 2014-04-18

Got NOA1 2014-04-22

I-130 approved 2014-05-14

NVC received 2014-05-23

Our case was approved for expedite and was sent to the Tokyo embassy. I received an email from the embassy that we no longer should send any documents to the NVC and should bring them to the interview. Also, they said that we should just pay any unpaid fees (in this case, IV fee) at the embassy and they also said to fill out DS-260. The problem is, it won't let us fill out DS-260 until we pay the IV fee online. The IV was invoiced the online the day after we received contact from the embassy. This was a few days ago. I was unable to do anything about it until today because I was traveling with a relative who was visiting. I just called the Tokyo embassy and they said they were unsure about what to do with the fee and that I should just call the NVC and ask. I plan to do so, but NVC won't open for about 4 or 5 hours. I want to go ahead and just finish DS-260 right now and pay the IV fee but I worry that if I pay online it may cause problems or delays... Does anyone know the correct course of action? I really appreciate any help.

First, congrats on the expedite.

Second, logic would dictate that you pay-online and fill DS-260. However, NVC defies logic in many situations. You really need to call.

Third, and most importantly, NVC phone reps don't know squat! Don't take anything they say for granted. Insist on speaking to a supervisor and make sure you jot down his or her name for future reference.

Please note that effective August 17, 2014, this site will no longer support Internet Explorer version 6.0 and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) 2.0/3.0. Please check your browser setting to make sure that Transport Layer Security (TLS) is enabled.
Today is the day for any possible upgrade to the system. Will it bring more woes or comfort. will it slow down more and speed up and make the entire application senseful?
Yet to see what is in store.

Nothing will change at all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The problem with Internet Explorer 6 is that Microsoft no longer supports it, and the creaky old web browser simply doesn't provide anything approaching a sufficient level of defence as severely critical vulnerabilities have been left unpatched.

I am at 18 months and still not done with NVC. I think Amanda is the one with the longest wait, 20 months.

Not sure if you mean me, but I am at 14 months, not 20. But I am on day 63 since my checklist doc was reviewed with no CC, so that might be a record of some sort

Yup I m worried About this too. Let's see what changes they bring into effect with this upgrade!

Hahahahahaa you have to laugh cause each time they fix something (so they say) they mess it up worse. My husband could fix it in no time but they don't hire people with brains and sensitivity for the most part. :D

And I pray this is your week you so deserve it. :) t1940.gif

Yes pay the fee fill out the DS-260 and print out the receipt and take it to the Embassy to prove you paid the IV. Others have done this with no problem and yes you have to pay the fee to fill out the form. So the Embassy is clueless. :) Happy for your Expedite wish my Embassy had been as diligent. Just to be safe please call NVC and as Mobar stated ask for a supervisor and I'm sure they will tell you to pay it and fill it out but it's important to speak to them. :D

Much luck at the interview I'm sure it will go smoothly and WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO your almost done!

Ok guys...I've been waiting for the 60 days wait to be over...one more week left...but I just checked the status online...and the "AOS fee" showed up as N/A, before it used to be "paid" and the IV still is in "paid" status....but is it a good sign? I hope it is...I asked this question to the rep when I called last week and the guy said...it doesn't mean anything good or bad...and he can't answer to that question...

That's a sign of case complete :dancing: :joy: call NVC when they open and confirm.

I got my email of approval today! The notice has been sent by mail and I'm so excited to have completed this step.

Congratulations :dancing: :joy: I was on top of the world when my petition was approved :dancing: I thought the immigration journey was coming to an end but Alas NVC came up with their own backlog.

I pray NVC clear their backlog and you get thru NVC stage as quickly as possible :luv: :luv:

Thanks for the replies everyone. 2 more hours and I will call NVC.

I am going over the PDF preview of the DS-260 again to make sure I have all of the information ready. For when it asks for the intended U.S. address, we have one that we will move in to. We will temporarily live at my parents' address until we find our own place. Recently, my parents cancelled the land line because no one uses it, so there is no official phone number for the house and everyone has their own cellphones. Is it better to put my father's cellphone number for the address phone number, or is it better to check the box that says "does not apply"? I plan to ask NVC operator when I call but they might not even know depending on who answers so I just wanted to see if anyone here might know. Thanks!

Sorry, a few more questions

When it asks for the Alien Number information on the page for previous U.S. visits, the way I understand things from calling previously is that an Alien Number is always assigned but that they become deleted from all records and invalid shortly after the Alien leaves the US (at least in the case when using ESTA). Is it better to just put "no" when it asks if my wife was ever assigned an A-number or should we put "yes" and check the box next to it that says "do not know" when asking for it?
