I really feel Depressed After calling NVC today morning. It took me just less than 5 minutes to reach a live agent. I told him my Uscis case number LIN********** . He told me that they have received the case as of Aug 6 2014 and that they will take 60 business days to enter it into the system.

Thats too long .. and after that again time consuming process. I feel so Damn Depressed. This Separation is killing me!!!!

It took them only 13 days actually to assign case number for us. They say 60 days so people won't keep bothering them. Call after 15 days and you should have case number :)

Hey guys. A little help here. So my i-130 was approved JULY 25. On August 5, 2014 I got an email saying it was shipped to NVC. After calling them again yesterday which was the 16th they still have no case on file. How long will it take to receive case and case number??

It will probably take anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks to arrive at the NVC from the date that it was shipped. Back in May, I received my case number in a little over 3 weeks from the date that my case was received at the NVC, but the times might be a little longer now.

As for receiving the case number, someone else who recently received their case number might want to answer because I am not sure if the time frame has changed at all.

Can yourself or someone please provide clarification on the wording in the sample cover letter Saylin has in her wiki for the IV Package? It says,

"

  • Certified copy of the birth certificate of beneficiary

  • Certified copy of the marriage certificate

  • Original police clearance certificate

Scanned copies of documents submitted are exact copies of unaltered documents and I understand that I will be required to submit original documents to an Immigration or Consular officer at the interview."

I took "scanned copies" to mean copies of the certified or original would be acceptable. Am I wrong in how I'm reading this?

As dilmera already said, that cover letter was for my EP package, hence everything submitted was a SCANNED copy of my originals/certified copies. For non-EP folk, you would remove that sentence.

You have to include either originals or certified copies of certificates. No photocopies or notarized copies will be accepted.

So how long do you think for case number??

How about reading the first post? ;)

Time frame varies at NVC but I think Saylin's wiki will be helpful to you. Here's the link http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

Hey everyone. I just paid my AOS and IV fees and it shows In Process online. How long does it usually take to show the fees status as Paid?

My Aos changed to PAID two days after payment. My IV changed to PAID the next day. So I guess it should change to PAID within two days.

I hope so. My husband who is so strong and have been strong through the process is starting to crack. This process must come to a end. NVC does not make things easy with incompetent reps.

I know what you mean. I have been a complete mess through the entire process, while my husband has been sweet and patient. But for the last few weeks, I can tell that this time apart has started to wear him down and crush his spirit. Hopefully only a short time to go now....
