Ahhhh. I see it now on a different one I have. "This is to certify that the following information has been taken...."

So what if that copy has been notarized as well. It's overkill, but do you think they may flag that?

They will accept only original or certified (same as original given by issuing authority).NVC will NOT accept photocopy or notarized copy as original document.

Dude, I have an idea for you. Why don't you apply for an expedite for a medical reason? :dancing:

Before you send an email to NVC applying for an expedite, you want to see a counselor or psychologist to get a letter stating how mentally unstable you are now and you need your wife's support ASAP. Then, you can scan the letter and attach it with your email to apply for an expedite.

I hope it works. :star: Even if it doesn't work, you'll get to talk to a mental health professional so you'll feel better (I hope!). Fingers crossed!

Yes I agree. It's a great idea. U should go for it thedude. I have seen u talk about dying way too much. And u have all the symptoms or major depression. Just saying u wanna die is enough to hospitalize u! So please don't do this to urself and get ur wife ASAP with u! Email Nvc. We are all rooting for u! Brilliant Austin

I was just reading this on another forum......

Laurel Scott Chat Log 8/6/2014

Laurel: Good morning everyone.

Laurel: The big update at the moment is that the NVC is finally admitting that it is overwhelmed. The agency is now sending notices to everyone stating that their response time is 60 days from the date they receive any document, inquiry, or form. While this newly announced response time is frustrating, it hopefully indicates that the NVC will be more careful about reviewing files before sending requests for evidence (RFE). The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) is in the midst of putting together an assessment of attorney complaints regarding the NVC. The NVC has had a long history of sending RFEs for documents that were already submitting and do not describe what, if any, problem there was with the already-submitted documents, BUT recently the frequency with which this occurs has skyrocketted. AILA does not put together assessments of attorney complaints unless there is a spike in problems, so AILA's actions indicate unusual, widespread problems at the NVC.

Laurel: The best advice for people going through NVC processing is to expect for it to take several months and not to be surprised if you get an RFE for a document that was already submitted. In the past NVC processing would normally take one to three months. You should now expect for it to take three to seven months. This may present problems for people from countries that require a police certificate as it is possible that your police certificate will expire while your case is pending at the NVC and you will have to get another

Oh my God!!!!!! My police certificate will be expiring next week. I hope I don't get checklist for it, I hope NVC will allow us bring another new police certificate for the interview. I can't bear to get checklist for this.

I am shaking, and crying. I just spoke to an operator and my document has not been reviewed. I explained I am at day 60 and what happens now and she said I have to wait a bit longer. I asked to speak to a supervisor, was put on hold and she came back to explain no supervisor was available.

She also tried to tell me that since my doc was received on 16th June and today is 15th Aug that 60 days is actually tomorrow. I said, "no there are 31 days in July to 60 days is today". she said "no, it is not". Ok, so NVC days are different than human days apparently.

She said I will "definitely" hear next week. That the NVC is "working overtime, 7 days a week, 12 hour days to catch up on all of mail". I laughed out loud and said I don't believe her, all I have heard in 5 months is lies and she said "Yah, I'm lyin' to you" and hung up on me.

I cannot do this anymore.

:ranting::ranting::ranting::ranting:

How rude of her to have hang up on you, so very unprofessional.

Am so sorry Amanda, am really short of words, I don't even know what else to say about this NVC. All I can say is that I definitely believe next week is your week. You are specially in my prayers and I just can't wait for you to get done with this nightmare. Please just hang in there, I pray the Lord gives you the strength to sail thru. Big hugs

This is the only highlight in a horrendous week. I am in so much pain with the arm. I graduate from University next Tuesday. Yes, at 52 I am a mature student! Will have my arm in a sling and my husband won't be here. Still, children, my mum and sister will be so we will have a nice day.

You're the same age as my wife. They broke the mold after your generation. I could tell you two would get along something fierce. Too bad you're not Colorado bound.

Speaking of graduation, Just the other day, while we're busy sorting out our house for the eventual big move, I came across my college graduation VHS tape from exactly 25 years ago. Dusted a VCR that was shelved a decade ago and I watched it for the first time ever. Imagine the heartbreak when I saw my uncle (he was my age) climbing the stage to get his own diploma. He passed away some years back. His wife is from the same mold you two came from. Now single-handedly juggling a career while rearing 10 (yes, 10) strong-headed boys.

Come to thing of it... we're surrounded by wonderful people and it's a shame we don't realize it and appreciate them often enough.
