I like you Austin, your a very kind and amazing soul and I'm grateful your with us in these difficult times. You say things with joy (no not that joy m0191.gif)and kindness that not everyone does. Thank you. :)(F) (L) (F)

Thanks! :star: We're NVC buddies since you and I (and Samreen and EOC4ever) have the identical timeline! :content:

I guess we'll have to entertain ourselves on here for 3 more LONG weeks until CC in early Sept (assuming no checklists)!

Then, we can be super silly on the interview thread after we're done with NVC! Can't wait!

Well then get a move on you two!... I'm getting bored over there.

What does it mean when they tell you your documents are under review?

Absolutely nothing. Don't believe anything they say unless it's a date they're reading from a status screen.

NVC would save themselves a lot of money and us a lot of frustration if they would just let us access our own status screens.

if Birth certificate starts with "This is certified that.............as per original records available with this office" its called as certified copy.which means they just extracted the details from the original birth register available with them.

The birth certificate I have is a colored copy of my wife's original that she received from them. Will that suffice?

It looks like we have almost identical timelines and the same consulate.

I do have a question that I hope you can answer. My wife ordered a certified birth certificate but nowhere on the birth certificate does it say "certified". I'm trying to figure out if I have the one I need for her IV package. Assuming you've done the same, can you tell me if your (or your husband's) birth certificate has "certified" written on it?

Thanks!

This is certified that the following information has been taken from the original record of Birth at........city of..........state (my birth certificate is starting like this).Thts called as certified copy .its same as original .Certified copy does NOT mean notarized or attested one.

The birth certificate I have is a colored copy of my wife's original that she received from them. Will that suffi

I hope so..thats may be original one..

I called nvc this morning to find out about my case, they have it since the 4th. I was on a well worth it 30 min wait. A rep gave me a case number and the invoice number. So as it is mentioned in the WIKI, I was expecting couple days to be able to log in and submit the DS-261, but by the end of the day I was able to log in and completed it. it was nice feeling really. next week I will try to pay the fee hopefully. Wish everyone good luck, we all need it.

Ahhhh. I see it now on a different one I have. "This is to certify that the following information has been taken...."

So what if that copy has been notarized as well. It's overkill, but do you think they may flag that?

:sleepy: Yea, I was kinda excited. I called and the guy told me that it shows my docs were received cuz I asked him about the status of my AOS (Aug 8) and DS-261 (July 28) and he was like they are both under review. I know its kinda early, hope he's right.

A colored copy is still a copy and not an original, and will not do even if notarized.

Get an original document and send it to NVC and save yourself a 60-day delay by a checklist.

I read they request it but we sent a letter from the IRS for my father who is our sponsor but not for my mother who is co-sponsor or me and our AOS was approved. :D

Thanks a lot for the information Soloenta.... I guess my case is as similar as yours. Could you please elaborate a little bit more like what IRS letter you sent for your father? Is it the IRS verification of non filing letter? And did you mark '0', 'N/A' or 'Not required to file' for part 6 of the I 864 form for you father?

I have sent my I-864 with IRS verification of non filing letter for 3 years, signed explanation letter from my wife that she is not employed and marked 'N/A' for Part 6 Sponsor's income and employment. Extremely nervous right now......

You need a police certificate from all the places you've lived since the age of 16. So she needs it for all of the places after she turned 16.

It will take 2-4Months from now to get the Police Report Certificate for Malaysia, Is this something that she can bring to the Interview, Because if she files it now, we might not getting till Dec. I'm expecting IV/DS260 by mid Sept.
