NVC Filers - August 2014

Hey guys,

I got a letter from NVC with my interview date (Montreal Consulate) today.

It's been a long Journey but I'm glad it's coming to a close. I had received a letter just 2 weeks ago saying to expect delays (60 day letter), so I'm pleasantly surprised to get this interview letter. The letter is dated Aug 15 and the interview date is Sept 23rd.

Interestingly, my AOS had changed from "PAID" to "N/A" on their website 2 days ago so I knew something was up. Like others have suggested, this may be a sign that the case is complete.

Hope others get some good news soon.

Amanda I'm so sorry.

Why? Have you checked out some of our time lines and how long we got stuck at USCIS, I would have given my right kidney and part of my liver for the privilege to be expedited for the joy of living with my husband. Sounds harsh but only because it's typed not spoken.

I think they say 60 days to cover their A$$es with the extra benefit that when they finish in 35 to 37 days or less we all dance the happy dance and feel blessed and grateful. So I don't think it will take that long at all. Wish your husband would have asked "what does that mean please" he should really call back and see what exactly they are going to do and how long it will take. I'll be praying on my end.

Is it normal to be on hold for 35 minutes and counting at NVC..

I was on hold once for an hour and ten minutes so yes it's very normal sad to say.

Awww it's nothing sweetness, I wish I could have really helped. I think you should call and if not given an answer then ask for a supervisor, God willing one isn't taking a break. Say Silvia told you to call back hahahahaa she is famous for bring kind and helping. Why not they have no clue that's obvious. Give it a try.

I guess we'll have to entertain ourselves on here for 3 more LONG weeks until CC in early Sept (assuming no checklists)!

Then, we can be super silly on the interview thread after we're done with NVC! Can't wait!

Today is (was) our anniversary. I am so sad and depressed. I really do want to die, I don't think I can take 5-6 more months of this. We are still so far (waiting for DS-261 to complete, not able to pay IV or do DS-260 yet). I am not sure that I can go on.

This process has shattered me. I have lost all of my friends through lack of contact. I feel like my relationship with my wife is not even that good any more. I don't see the point in going on. I have stopped eating very much, I sleep as much as possible because I hate being awake. I don't see any point in anything anymore.

Also I only have a few days of vacation time saved up, and it takes 3 days to get there and 2 to get back. I also don't really have the money right now.

Ok here it goes, I got an email to fill DS-261 thrice and I called NVC to know whats going on??? The rep I talked to was very very rude since the starting. He told me, he can't see my form in their system, AND I NEED TO RESUBMIT IT and I was almost into tears. Its been 30 days already.!! If I resubmit now, It would reset the clock. I just feel so low. Couple of days back a rep told me, I don't need to resubmit it because it shows completed on website and also I have the confirmation number with me. So I called NVC again, hoping for a nicer NVC rep. She told me, don't resubmit it. You need to wait couple of weeks more. It is not showing into our system because it hasn't been reviewed yet. I don't want to share all this with my hubby because he already thinks I am agonizing over this whole process. These reps are giving contradicting statements. I don't know whom to believe. If after 30 business days or whatever 60 days, it doesn't show up into their system, Can I call for a supervisor review? I don't want to resubmit it after waiting for 60 days and waiting again for another 60 days.I don't know what to do...!! I am so fed up now

It looks like we have almost identical timelines and the same consulate.

I do have a question that I hope you can answer. My wife ordered a certified birth certificate but nowhere on the birth certificate does it say "certified". I'm trying to figure out if I have the one I need for her IV package. Assuming you've done the same, can you tell me if your (or your husband's) birth certificate has "certified" written on it?

My friend is your family not worth waiting for? You know they are and would be lost without you so just take a deep breath and know in the end you will be together for ever and be annoying each other until your both toothless. So these are the memories that will make your love stronger not weaker. I two will be celebrating my 3 ed wedding anniversary Oct 16 Th without the love of my life. But I wont give up no matter how long it takes because I wont let them win. I refuse to allow them to tear us apart. They lose we win now be strong we can do this! But in a loving way.
