I think it's because we tend to believe what we like to hear (and not believing what we don't like to hear). :bonk:

That's exactly what it is. All it's really doing is getting people more wound up when things don't start moving faster. It's best for everyone's mental health to take what these phone agents say with a grain of salt because all know the next agent we talk to (or the next person talks to) will say something that completely contradicts what was just said by another agent.

We haven't gotten that stupid email yet, but hubby just called anyways and was told.. 60 business days! :D

He's seriously angry now.. Sigh.

I do hope this email is just a complete BS to stop us from calling everyday. Would be a pretty cr appy move on their part, though. This whole process is upsetting enough, thank you very little NVC!

60business days!!!!! That's terrible. But I think they are using the 60business days to just buy time and to review the packages and also to keep us from bugging them. Am sure they should be able to review packages before the 60business days. I haven't gotten the email yet.

Actually, if you think about it, what if all of the excessive phone calls are actually damaging their productivity? :o It's a Conspiracy Keanu thing going on in my mind now... I'm sure the people answering phones aren't the same that review it, right? However, if they are and they need to be on the phone for 17 hours of the day then there really is a problem, because I know when I call it's almost always a busy signal. I want an NVC person to do an 'IAMA' on Reddit ;o

Yes we used the AOS cover sheet.

I strongly suggest you wait 30 business days after DS 261 "acceptance" and after that mail the IV package.

Our DS 261 was accepted on 06/04.

Yup, 60 business days :luv: I totally agree with you!

I still haven't gotten that 60 day email but just received a checklist? Almost gave me a heart attack, swear to God!

Hubby is on hold, but was told yesterday when he called to expect a false one for the "mysterious" piece of mail they received from us on 6/19 (probably our attorney's G28, can't think of anything else).

The checklist asks for my birth certificate, marriage certificate and my PCC. Sigh.

I really wonder what's going on in NVC with the backlog stories. I think case files should be sent directly to the consulate and then the embassies will contact the beneficiary with list of documents to come along with to the interview.

Or on the other hand, NVC should issue AOS and IV at the same time so that AOS and IV documents can be reviewed at same time, they should stop issuing checklist, they should close the case and ask the beneficiary to bring the missing documents to the interview. I think this will safe them from this backlog and their workload will be reduced. Anyway its just my opinion.

It will be a great torture to wait for 60days for each documents to be reviewed.

There you go again EOC4ever thinking and thinking logically. SHAME ON YOU FOR HAVING A BRAIN, but they don't so it will stay the same and we will sit here with broken hearts. :( Group hug, smileys-embrace-hug-614968.gif
