Ok...we just received a checklist saying to complete the DS-261 (we did that)....calling now to see if our AOS package was approved!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D

9/25/2013: I-130 delivered by UPS (Priority Date)

9/26/2013: NOA1

3/04/2014: Transferred to NSC

4/17/2014: NOA2

Im thinking about sendindg iv package just after my husband pays the fee because it takes time to send the package from Tokyo to NVC and I think the fee will be "paid" while the package is acrossing the ocean haha.

talked to NVC with a nice guy... forgot the name lol.. bt he was helpfull.. done with IV package and they are reviewing the AOS checklist which was scanned july 8th..... hope to get cc this week inshallah....... :D

WOW! I really feel like a million bucks! I just called and spoke with Gus, who is an excellent NVC agent and doesn't sound like a robot, and he confirmed that our AOS package has been approved with no checklists! This is a HUGE moment for us because I am the US citizen living abroad with my spouse, not working for the past 4 years, and we were somewhat worried about showing proof of U.S. domicile. I am so happy right now even though this isn't even a case complete. Thanks you to everyone for your help thus far in the process (especially Saylin, Duh haha). :D

Regarding the US domicile, the Juarez Consulate has the final say so it'll be in your best interest to bring documents like emails you were exchanging with potential employers to the interview. The biggest factors when it comes to demonstrating the US domicile are job and residence. :yes:

I haven't heard anywhere that if you don't have a job lined up or a residence before the interview that it will affect their decision. I am happy with where we are at right now in the process. :)
