:dancing::goofy: Case Complete! :goofy::dancing:

Scan date was either June 26 or June 30 - we never really got a clear answer on that one.

HOORAY!!!!

Congrats, great news!!

Yes, they insist they review mail in order received, but I think it is obvious they do not. My checklist with one simple correction still not review and received 16/6, scanned 20/6.

Congrats on your speedy USCIS experience! I hope your luck continues in NVC. I have been one of the unfortunate ones stuck in both backlogs, but this whole this is just so unpredictable. Funny to think I could have waited a year to submit my I-130 and still be exactly where I am today. Funny the way it works. I can only hope that forces beyond my control have decided it is not time for me to go yet. There must be something I have to experience, learn or contribute to here first. (Trying HARD to look on the bright side). I try to stop myself from complaining when I realise I am with my husband here, I cannot begin to imagine this process apart. My heart goes out to all of those separated. (L)

Yes lovely, a new week, a new hope. Although you are not expecting anything from NVC news-wise this week, it is still a week ticking by closer to being reunited. Another hope that NVC will pull their thumbs out and get to work. Another week to enjoy the Land Down Under. xoxo

Amanda and msc, -

fingers crossed for both of you...

Amanda you got the shaft, but hopefully Friday you'll hear some good news.

Superstar! Thanks heaps.

I was also wondering, this is probably a silly question and I don't know if I have missed it on Saylin's amazing NVC wiki, but if I am leaving my job in Australia to move to the USA I don't need to fill in a I-864A do I? The only income that will continue is some long-service leave that I'm getting paid for 19 weeks after we leave (isn't Australia great like that?!) but as it is temporary it's not a "continuing" income as such, it's just leave at the end of which I will resign.

So I'm not 100% sure what you're asking... but...

I-864A is typically only filled out by family members of joint sponsors who wish to contribute their income. Nothing in your above explanation makes me think that you would need to fill out the I-864A form.

But if you're asking if you will need to fill out the I-864 form in general, then yes, you most definitely do. Are you the petitioner or beneficiary?

Yes sorry that was confusing!

I am the beneficiary, not the petitioner. Do I fill out i-864 still or just my husband, who is the petitioner, and his father who is the joint sponsor? I understand that my husband's mother will fill out i-864a.

I know this must be a question that gets asked so much and is probably clearly explained somewhere. But do you ever feel like the more you read, the less you understand? *blush*...

I am the beneficiary. My husband is the petitioning USC.

Yeah, no worries. I actually would be freaking out if I were you. This is a lot of preparation and paperwork thrown at you all at once lol. I think I've read the wiki about 20-30 times. I believe it was after around 10-12 times that it started to click. :P

What you said above is correct, your husband fills out the I-864, his father fills out an I-864, and his mother can fill out the I-864A if necessary. You don't have to fill out any of them.

Okay.

Last night I was thinking about this whole process. I know that people who filed recently got approved within a month, why within few days. But we ( 2013) filers we had to wait for more than 5 months some even 10 months.

Ok. Next is our NVC. Most of us got approval from Jan2014 to April 2014... ( Mostly filers May 2013 - Dec 2013).So from May 2014 Nvc started to get applications 3 times more than they used to receive...but June 2014 is the peak month ( according to the scanned days they took). But after July 3rd week they received the docs and scanned within 2 days and now its less than 2 days I guess.

So, Nvc will be back to normal after they finish scan docs July 15-20.

And I am sure peoplewill get case complets within 2 weeks... hmmm?? May be 1 week who knows.

( Excuse my sentence structure lol ).

This process is like a natural disaster. We are facing it. But people come next will never know

Can this get any worse.

Took my son to swim training at 4.30 am went back to bed got up again at 7.00 am to collect him. Got up too quick, blacked out, smashed head and face against bedside cabinet and broke arm. Am in a backslab for a week before they cast it. Am in so much pain. Can't drive but am going to HAVE to. Children need to get to school.

Hubby spoke to lawyer. They have suggested they call Consulate and see if we can get file sent down from NVC, set an interview and I take this Singapore Police Certificate and original Birth Certificate - because they didn't like my Adoption one - to interview. Don't know how that will go. Can't think straight. Feel dizzy from the drugs. Am so over this. Just want to cry. Sorry for being so down. I am usually really upbeat. Will be back to my old self in a couple of days.

What a horrible accident... Thank goodness you didn't get a serious head injury/concussion!

Please take it slow and let the kids simmer for a while re extra-curricular activities. The quicker you're up and about, the quicker you can take care of them properly.

Investigate all possibilities for the blackout. I had a similar spat of severe dizziness back in March/April. Doctors were quick to point at my low blood pressure. Checking old records, it turned out my blood pressure was always in the 100-110/70-75. Turned out the culprit was lack of salt intake due to strenuous exercising.

Oh msc you poor thing that is so terrible :( No advice from me obviously but big hugs.

Went and ordered my police certificate today. It was a very painless process with a lovely polite staff member at the front desk at the cop shop. :)

She said that they CAN send it to the consulate for me but that they don't normally, so I took her at her word and it will be posted to me I suppose? Worse comes to worst, when/if I get an interview date I can ask them to fwd a copy to the consulate I suppose.

I am the beneficiary. My husband is the petitioning USC.

Looks like they are working on July. Our AOS checklist was scanned 22nd July.

Oh, No! :crying: I hope you get better soon!

Is your lawyer applying for an expedite? I thought you had to send an email to NVC to apply for an expedite? I think bdrew mentioned that NVC can't pull out any received packages so you'll have to wait for your AOS checklist to be reviewed by NVC even though the embassy/consulate sets up an interview. Of course, I don't really know exactly how that works.

Wishing you a speedy recovery (and speedy case processing, of course)! :star:
