I just called to find out what's going on with our DS-261 and why it STILL has not been approved yet (and the IV fee not invoiced). This is the 2nd representative that has told me that they will notify their supervisor to have it taken care of. I then asked Penny if she will be telling her direct supervisor today and she proceeded to tell me that "no, it will be put on a spreadsheet and whichever supervisor gets to it first will take care of it." Soooo tired of this sh!t dragging on and on with so many promises but so few results....

Can't believe they have not invoiced you yet. That is just ridiculous. Did you call and ask if you could send IV packet without IV fee? I personally didn't do that as I was afraid that they would lose my packet. But I know some people have had a luck with it. Did they atleast review your AOS? Hang in there my friend and good luck!

Anyway, they said to don't expect anything until October 5th, but what do they mean? case complete or fee for IV package or even interview date?

Yeah I think they mean the IV fee. I think the DS261 usually gets approved in about a month though and then they issue it so I hope it'll just be one month! A whole two months before paying a fee is really silly, and then having to wait a day or two to send the documents. It's messy.

I just looked at your timeline and you did your DS261 a day before me so I wonder why the fee isn't there for you :x It was there the very next day for me and we got an email the same day telling us it was ready to be paid. Have you called?

Hang in there, Jeff. It seems like all you can do is wait at this point since you've made more than enough calls on this issue.

Meanwhile, I hope they approve your AOS package this week or next week. It's not a big deal if you get a checklist since you can send a checklist document with your IV package since you haven't sent your IV package yet. That's the only "positive" thing about waiting for the IV fee invoice if you get a checklist on the AOS package. It won't delay your timeline.

Hey, that's a good way to look at it. I will hope for no checklists but that is a good idea if I do happen to have one!

Thank you! I didn't ask about sending the IV packet without paying the IV fee first only because I am a little hesitant to do that. I don't want to jeopardize anything else with our case if something is lost or "misplaced" at the NVC. They have not reviewed the AOS package either. It was scanned into their system on July 2 so they are still telling me to wait the 60 days for that as well. :/

I called NVC when my AOS bill was available and asked what do I have to do for electronic processing. He said pay the fees and send AOS package through e-mail to NVCElectronic@state.gov and will be be opt-in to EP.

I have send the package on AUG 11 and today when I called to confirm if my package is received they said you have to first send a separate e-mail to OPT-IN first and once you receive the confirmation then you have to send AOS package. I'm not sure why I'm getting 2 conflicting information from NVC reps ?

Which process is correct? Please help me so that I can take the right action.

The first officer was correct. At least I was told the same information (albeit after I already sent the thing in, I called because I worried I was wrong, he assured me I was right) We called today and they told us they received it the same day we sent it! It's very strange though. Sorry that they're confusing!! :x

We sent ours August 5th. So it's been over a week now so maybe wait a week. They'll probably tell you they received it the day you sent it but they just haven't fully looked. I hear the phone operators can't actually look at the email system so they do not know anything yet probably!

Yes I felt the same way about IV packet and that is why I also waited for a month. In regards to your AOS, it will be processed by the end of this week for sure.

So far the NVC process has been a little quicker than I expected. They received our case on July 28th, and I expected to wait the full 30 business days to get a case number, but was pleasantly surprised to get it on the 11th. I filled out the DS-261 the same day, and the AOS was billed yesterday the 12th. We're going to pay it today or tomorrow.

DH is here in Canada with me, and is leaving on Saturday to go take care of some domicile stuff (getting a vehicle registered and insured down there, updating his voters registration, nailing down the lease with his grandpa etc.). We thought we planned it so that by the time we got a case number we would have all that stuff ready to go. How much domicile stuff should I send with the AOS packet? I've read Montreal is kind of ####### about it, so we were going to send as much a possible up front.

if you just sent AOS to them, the operator won't know if they got your package or not cause they do not have the access. it won't appear on their system. Until you receive an email from NVC stating that you are successfully opt-in to EP, then you can call to confirm they got your AOS or not. that's when it is shown on the operator's system.

but after that, when you send in IV, the operator will know right away if they get ur package or not.

I sent in my AOS on 5/20, I called 6/9, the operator said they haven't rec'd my package and i thought it was lost. but 6/11, I rec'd the email from NVC stating im opt-in EP. So I called them again on 6/13, they told me they rec'd my package on 6/11 and it was under review.

But when I sent in my aos checklist 6/25, IV on 6.27 and filled in ds260 on 7/2. I called, operator told me the scan/receive date is 6/25, 6/29(cause 6.27 was friday so rec'd on monday) and 7/2.

Another step started for me! I finally got the courage to go to the police station in my town to get a records check. The lady was friendly, and then she told me it was cash only So I had to leave, get out money, read the form, got my passport from my house for extra ID, filled it out once I got back to the station, then went on my merry way. I don't really know why I was nervous. Something about authority makes my heart race, haha. Anyways, I'll probably get that in a week so it'll be here for sure on time for whenever I start the IV package.
