Of course! I totally understand. I am so sorry this has been so stressful for so many people :( reading some of the stories in here just breaks my heart.

Wouldn't it be weird and slightly concerning if they were approving them before receiving them?! >_> maybe big brother really is watching ... But no, it was just my lack of comprehension of how the timeline worked. :)

I sincerely hope it's not too much longer for you.

After what we saw in the USCIS backlog last year I don't think any of us would put it past them :lol:

FWIW the timeline feature on VJ isn't great, it's worth filling out but a lot of the time points are mislabeled or irrelevant with the introduction of online forms. It's definitely confusing and usually needs a few looks to make sense.

EDIT: Just took a look at my timeline and realized the incorrect form numbers were removed! Progress ^_^

So I called this morning and was told that Sept. scheduling is over and I didnt get in. I am crushed. So even though CC about two weeks ago, still nothing. I am just dumbfounded at the incompetence or lack of give-a-$hit of the US immigration system for LEGAL immigration. How hard is it to have a damn shared calendar and to schedule the damn thing the same day you give a CC? :(

I m so sorry to hear this. It is indeed crushing to see another step delayed when things finally start looking better. What date was ur case completed?

That seems a little harsh, hehe, I promise I wasn't being purposefully deceptive :) but yes okay I went and had a look at the timeline and I see where I went wrong. On the timeline where it says "receipt" and "approved", I thought that meant when *I* received the NOA1, and when the approved date for the NOA2 was which in hindsight doesn't make any sense! I wondered why, when I first did it, it told me the two dates were out of order, lol! I fixed it now, it is correct, NOA1 date is 17 July and NOA2 is 28 July. I hope this has cleared things up.

I am fairly new to this site and though I normally consider myself to be a person of reasonable intelligence, I find a lot of things both on the site and to do with the visa process kinda baffling! I am trying to read as voraciously as possible but I still feel like a flailing fish out of water, especially compared to people who have been less fortunate in terms of their wait time so who have had more time to learn the ropes :oops:

Yup we have had soo much time to read as understand this f***** up process that I thnk we are all half experts now. Sorry for my bad language! But it's just starting to get on my nerves :clock:

NOA1- 6-6-2013

Scan date was either June 26 or June 30 - we never really got a clear answer on that one.

I'm the beneficiary, wife of USC.
12/30/2012: Got engaged.
1/16/2013: Got married in India.

I-130:
2/28/2013: Attorney mailed the I-130 from a U.S. address.
3/4/2013: Priority date, NOA1.
11/6/2013: Case was transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

1/6/2014: 60 days of transfer are up, put in an e-request, given 30 days' time. Contacted the senator. Senator asked to wait till Feb 6 and if nothing then she will do something.
2/5/2014: Website status changed to RFE.
2/10/2014: Attorney gets RFE. They need G325A and photos of both me and husband, original marriage certificate, copy of marriage record and it's translation.
2/15/2014: Mailed the requisite documents to husband.
2/19/2014: Documents received by husband.
2/24/2014: RFE mailed.
2/26/2014: Case status changed to RFE review.
3/6/2014: After 367 days, NOA2.

After approval kept calling NVC but NVC always had one reply, file was not in their system. Husband too called USCIS National Customer Service Center and was told case was sent to NVC.
4/2/2014: Write to NSCFollowup to know about the status of the petition.
4/10/2014: Put in a ?service request with USCIS starting with OVP to locate case.
4/16/2014: Reply from NSCFollowup that the U.S. law prohibited that office from responding to anyone other than the petitioner and to have the petitioner contact them.
4/18/2014: Sent email to NVC Research to locate the case.
4/22/2014: Petitioner sent email to NSCFollowup
5/14/2014: Receive email from NVC Research that they do not have a record of receiving the petition.
5/16/2014: Congressman's immigration caseworker contacted supervisor at NSC who said the petition is pending and will be dispatched in two weeks.
5/27/2014: Petitioner received response from NSCFollowup that the case was pending an internal extended review. Really?
6/19/2014: USCIS case status change, "On June 19, 2014, we shipped this case..."
7/1/2014: Case received at NVC.
7/14/2014: NVC case number assigned.
8/1/2014: AOS and IV fees invoiced.
8/2/2014: AOS and IV fees paid.
8/5/2014: AOS and IV fees status changed to paid.
8/6/2014: AOS and IV packages mailed, completed and submitted DS-260.

NVC reps are known to give wild and contradictory opinions and this seems like one of them. I wouldn't believe anything they say unless they're reading it from a screen in front of them. For at least a year now, NVC has been scheduling two rounds of interviews (3 weeks apart) for the same month. The only exception was last December which had only one round. This suggests a second round of September interviews before this week is over. Hope is fading fast though.

21-MAR-2014 I-140 + PP sent to USCIS

31-MAR-2014 Petition approved

16-APR-2014 Case shipped to NVC

29-APR-2014 Case received by NVC

23-MAY-2014 Case # assigned

4-JUN-2014 IV Bill invoiced and PAID (AOS Exempt, DS-261 Waived)

6-JUN-2014 DS-260 forms submitted

10-JUN-2014 IV Docs received by NVC

13-JUN-2014 IV Docs matched to case (scanned)

30-JUL-2014 Case Complete, CC email auto-sent one week later

I thought no one was waiting as long as me but how wrong I was. Waiting 17 months here and have seen husband only twice in this entire time, since our marriage. Total time spent with husband is less than a month, missed anniversary, birthdays, festivals...

Same here.... Applied April 30 2013............ 16 months of waiting......... Separated from wife 20 days after marriage and not met her after that....... Like u said missed birthday's, anniversary's, festivals etc...........

NVC reps are known for giving false informations at times. Maybe the rep you spoke doesn't know anything. You are suppose to have a slot for September considering the fact that you had a CC last month.

You should call again and speak to another reasonable rep.
