I know I have the same feeling so many times and I feel like this process has made me selfish and brutal. But even though I m happy for those people I feel furious at seeing approvals in 2 weeks when I compare it to my 10.5 months of waiting! I m happy u can take a break and forget this bullshit for a while!! Relax and have a great time!! :) :)

As one of the two-weekers (I swear I did nothing different it's just pure dumb luck as you know), I can tell you right now I would feel exactly the same way if I was you. I would look at me and be so envious and angry and feel like it was so unfair. I do not think these feelings are unjust or out of line at all. And I agree with the poster above you, it would be VERY hard to feel happy for ones such as me. You poor things. *hugs*

Not quite! It was just a timeline thing. Because we are in Australia, the NOA1 date RECEIVED was the 5th of August but it was approved on the 17th of July. The NOA2 timeline field asked for "approved" but we had to put received date in because otherwise it would have been BEFORE the received date of the NOA1, lol! Stupid post! So it went like this:

i-130 received 14 July (post tracking site)

NOA1 issued 17 July

NOA1 received 5 August by post

NOA2 approved 28 July

NOA2 received 11 August by post

Just called NVC to see what they had to say this week. I spoke to Dale, he confirmed my scan date to be 7/15 for AOS and IV (I have a lawyer) and he said that due to the volume of cases which they are trying to cut down, it is likely that it will go past the 30 biz day mark and will unlikely be done before the end of August. He also said my 60 days is September 15th. I hope it's not as long as that as I was praying and knocking on wood to get CC and make October interview scheduling, but now November looks more likely.

Also I read but don't post too often... Where is Solenta?!

I think on each notice of action, there's always a date on it, I guess that's the date you should input into your timeline and not the received date.

According to your timeline, you got approved August 11th, and NVC received your case file August 8th???? It doesn't add up.

That seems a little harsh, hehe, I promise I wasn't being purposefully deceptive :) but yes okay I went and had a look at the timeline and I see where I went wrong. On the timeline where it says "receipt" and "approved", I thought that meant when *I* received the NOA1, and when the approved date for the NOA2 was which in hindsight doesn't make any sense! I wondered why, when I first did it, it told me the two dates were out of order, lol! I fixed it now, it is correct, NOA1 date is 17 July and NOA2 is 28 July. I hope this has cleared things up.

I am fairly new to this site and though I normally consider myself to be a person of reasonable intelligence, I find a lot of things both on the site and to do with the visa process kinda baffling! I am trying to read as voraciously as possible but I still feel like a flailing fish out of water, especially compared to people who have been less fortunate in terms of their wait time so who have had more time to learn the ropes

Oh, same here. we filed our i-130 18 months ago and still at the beginning of the NVC process.

I keep asking myself what lesson should i learn from this experience?? Each step makes me so nervous I as expect any obstacle that might delay it even further.

My husband tries to come visit us as often as he can. and I am just exercising my patience and always happy to see people getting approved. That gives me hope that on day i will be there.

I thought no one was waiting as long as me but how wrong I was. Waiting 17 months here and have seen husband only twice in this entire time, since our marriage. Total time spent with husband is less than a month, missed anniversary, birthdays, festivals...

I'm the beneficiary, wife of USC.
12/30/2012: Got engaged.
1/16/2013: Got married in India.

I-130:
2/28/2013: Attorney mailed the I-130 from a U.S. address.
3/4/2013: Priority date, NOA1.
11/6/2013: Case was transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

1/6/2014: 60 days of transfer are up, put in an e-request, given 30 days' time. Contacted the senator. Senator asked to wait till Feb 6 and if nothing then she will do something.
2/5/2014: Website status changed to RFE.
2/10/2014: Attorney gets RFE. They need G325A and photos of both me and husband, original marriage certificate, copy of marriage record and it's translation.
2/15/2014: Mailed the requisite documents to husband.
2/19/2014: Documents received by husband.
2/24/2014: RFE mailed.
2/26/2014: Case status changed to RFE review.
3/6/2014: After 367 days, NOA2.

After approval kept calling NVC but NVC always had one reply, file was not in their system. Husband too called USCIS National Customer Service Center and was told case was sent to NVC.
4/2/2014: Write to NSCFollowup to know about the status of the petition.
4/10/2014: Put in a ?service request with USCIS starting with OVP to locate case.
4/16/2014: Reply from NSCFollowup that the U.S. law prohibited that office from responding to anyone other than the petitioner and to have the petitioner contact them.
4/18/2014: Sent email to NVC Research to locate the case.
4/22/2014: Petitioner sent email to NSCFollowup
5/14/2014: Receive email from NVC Research that they do not have a record of receiving the petition.
5/16/2014: Congressman's immigration caseworker contacted supervisor at NSC who said the petition is pending and will be dispatched in two weeks.
5/27/2014: Petitioner received response from NSCFollowup that the case was pending an internal extended review. Really?
6/19/2014: USCIS case status change, "On June 19, 2014, we shipped this case..."
7/1/2014: Case received at NVC.
7/14/2014: NVC case number assigned.
8/1/2014: AOS and IV fees invoiced.
8/2/2014: AOS and IV fees paid.
8/5/2014: AOS and IV fees status changed to paid.

8/7/2014: AOS and IV packages delivered to NVC.
8/8/2014: AOS and IV packages put into the system (scanned).
9/20/2014: Get the 60-day email.
9/30/2014: Case Complete!
10/3/2014: Interview scheduled for November 7.

This immigration process is really messed up and unpredictable and its becoming unbearable, Please Pardon my outburst. I pray we all get thru this process as quickly as possible.

Of course! I totally understand. I am so sorry this has been so stressful for so many people :( reading some of the stories in here just breaks my heart.

Wouldn't it be weird and slightly concerning if they were approving them before receiving them?! >_> maybe big brother really is watching ... But no, it was just my lack of comprehension of how the timeline worked. :)
