Checking in!! We have an AOS scan date June 18th and received a false checklist on August 1st for the DS-261. I called the NVC and was told 60 days from the scan date.

I think your AOS has been reviewed and accepted. Most people receieved false checklist for DS-261 after their AOS was reviewed and accepted. You should call NVC and specifically ask for the status of your AOS.

I think you should update your timeline or is your consulate really Armenia?

My NOA2 stated that I can now proceed with with Adjustment of Status. My address in i-130 was obviously my address in Canada (out of US), we put n/a for adjustment of status in I-130 but did not write what consulate on the right side. Numerous calls, letters. infopasses, congressmen, ombudsman.. ended up filing I-824.

How ironic it is. I was hoping to move to US before Christmas last year. Looks like we would not make it this year as well :(( I will to ask my husband to bring our Christmas tree and ornaments back, i sent it to US with him last winter. silly me :))

Omg. I m so so sorry. This is soo terrible. My heart goes out to u. And u can definitely make there till Christmas. I will remember u in my prayers! :)

Congratulations!!!! So very happy for u!! :dancing::)

Hi guys!

So, NVC received our case on July 22nd (I discovered on a call on July 28th). In 9 business days - July 31st - we had our case # assigned, AOS bill and DS-261 invoiced (we discovered through email NVC sent my husband, who was here with me in actually, spending his summer vacations)

We paid the bill and completed the DS261, and the AOS package he'll send tomorrow (he arrived today in the US, and didn't have all his info here in Brazil to send in the package).

My question is: is it normal to have the case # assigned so fast and the AOS bill invoiced right away? From now on are they "slowing down" with us because we had a "fast beginning"? I must confess we're both excited (I wasn't expecting anything from them until the end of August) and scared (why did they send it so fast to us??),so it would be nice to hear if any of you had a similar experience or just an opinion to give. :goofy:

Consider urself extremely lucky then. U saved one whole month :)

Hi everyone! I just want to let you guys know, because people still send me personal messages about my email to my Senators (which is totally fine, happy to help in any way!!) I am going to take a break from VJ. I have gotten to the point where I can't be happy for others who got through USCIS in 2 weeks or who got their case set up at the NVC in three weeks. I hate to admit it, but its true. And to me, that means I need a break and an attitude adjustment. I am going to go spend a couple months with my husband and try and forget the NVC even exists.

I will check back in once and awhile, so keep sending me messages anyone who wants to. And of course, good luck to all :)

I know I have the same feeling so many times and I feel like this process has made me selfish and brutal. But even though I m happy for those people I feel furious at seeing approvals in 2 weeks when I compare it to my 10.5 months of waiting! I m happy u can take a break and forget this bullshit for a while!! Relax and have a great time!! :) :)

thanks for your help!
