Your hubby is the petitioner, eh? And you got a checklist on your AOS package, eh? :huh2:

If so, I don't think they need to have your hubby's proof of citizenship since you sent a copy of that in your I-130 application as you mentioned.

I'm confused too! :bonk:

So our lawyer has spent 3 hours reviewing the checklist and reviewing our AOS and there aren't any mistakes. He is confused and we are confused. We called NVC ans were on hold forever and we got through and rep hung up the call! Anywho, our lawyer said to contact the local congressman. My hubby will be emailing him asap about this entire process....

NVC is just a total waste of precious time. Since the embassy has the final approval, there's no need for NVC doing document collection because they tend to frustrate people's life, issue checklist for the silliest thing and waste several months of our life. Documents should be submitted to USCIS or taken to the EMBASSY at the time of interview.

My brother told me I got some mail from NVC today, another false checklist for the DS-261. They're really bombarding me with this >_> what's weird though is it's physical mail and not an email...

I actually got an email too yesterday in response to an old email I sent asking for the IV invoice. In that email they again acknowledged receipt of the DS-261 and told me to complete the DS-2610. It's just so silly and for someone not up to speed with their quirky systems, can cause a ton of confusion. All of this is redundant anyway because I've done it all.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

Hmm, just realised I didn't enter my middle name into the given name fields on the DS-260. I wonder if that will be a problem?

So I was going to call and check if case number had been assigned yet when I got home from work. NVC beat me to it though and I got an email with the numbers in it. Got home went to ceac and was able to fill out DS261. They said I should be able to pay fees in 3-5 days. I know about all the wait times and all of that jazz but for right now I am totally stoked.

Hi guys!

So, NVC received our case on July 22nd (I discovered on a call on July 28th). In 9 business days - July 31st - we had our case # assigned, AOS bill and DS-261 invoiced (we discovered through email NVC sent my husband, who was here with me in actually, spending his summer vacations)

We paid the bill and completed the DS261, and the AOS package he'll send tomorrow (he arrived today in the US, and didn't have all his info here in Brazil to send in the package).

My question is: is it normal to have the case # assigned so fast and the AOS bill invoiced right away? From now on are they "slowing down" with us because we had a "fast beginning"? I must confess we're both excited (I wasn't expecting anything from them until the end of August) and scared (why did they send it so fast to us??),so it would be nice to hear if any of you had a similar experience or just an opinion to give. :goofy:

They open at their 7am, so try an hour later ;)

Sorry it was my mistake:) Tokyo 8pm is their 7am and it takes only 10-20mins to talk to them for me:)

NVC don't open their phone lines until 7am which is when I usually call. I've never waited more than 20 minutes calling at that time, generally only 5-10 minutes wait at most.

Sorry it was my mistake. Tokyo 8pm is their 7am open time:) i can talk to them easily but nobody wont help us for the iv invoice.
