Oh, same here. we filed our i-130 18 months ago and still at the beginning of the NVC process.

I keep asking myself what lesson should i learn from this experience?? Each step makes me so nervous I as expect any obstacle that might delay it even further.

My husband tries to come visit us as often as he can. and I am just exercising my patience and always happy to see people getting approved. That gives me hope that on day i will be there.

"The document you submitted is not an original or certified copy of an original issued by the appropriate government authority. The document must be an original, or a certified copy of the original, bearing the original seal or stamp from the issuing authority." This is bull we sent both with the stamps and everything .... It's from the ministry it doesn't get more official than this !

Hi! I received the exact same checklist last Thursday for both my husband´s birth certificate and our marriage certificate. I called NVC and they told me that my package with those documents hasn´t even been reviewed yet, so to just ignore the checklist. I didn´t believe them, so I asked to talk to a supervisor and she told me the same thing. I´m going to call again later this week to see if they´ve finally reviewed the packet. In the meantime I emailed the US embassy in my husband´s home country to get a confirmation from them that I sent the correct documents. Maybe you could do the same so that you have something to fight the checklist with.

Any idea why it could be? I am on hold on the phone with them right now. Could this be a false checklist?

And expedites also don't allow to bring checklist to the interview? I mean people who are expedited are also required to go thru same delay with checklist?

U don't have to wait. Fill it as soon as it is available!

Thanks so much!

Hey, do you know if there is a step-by-step guide for filling out the DS-261? I am panicking as I look at it, scared I will fill it out incorrectly.

Wowwww why is there a 6 month gap between ur approval and the say nvc recieved ur case?? :wow:

My NOA2 stated that I can now proceed with with Adjustment of Status. My address in i-130 was obviously my address in Canada (out of US), we put n/a for adjustment of status in I-130 but did not write what consulate on the right side. Numerous calls, letters. infopasses, congressmen, ombudsman.. ended up filing I-824.

How ironic it is. I was hoping to move to US before Christmas last year. Looks like we would not make it this year as well :(( I will to ask my husband to bring our Christmas tree and ornaments back, i sent it to US with him last winter. silly me :))

I notice the CEAC website states that they are dropping support for IE6 and SSL on the 17th. I assume this means they will roll a big update to the website over the week end. I wonder if the evidence and documents fields which are currently always marked "N/A" will become more informative. I also wonder if some of the recent checklists asking for a ton of documents already submitted might be because of this change?

This is pure speculation on my part.

I'm the USC petitioner. My wife is British (now a USC!!!), generally awesome, and amazingly patient.

Thank you for the advice :) Sounds like a good idea! Please let me know how it goes. Fingers crossed :) btw we have the same date for the IV package , hopefully we will get our CC soon

How important is it that the given names match exactly what we wrote on the application? I cannot remember exactly what we put so I'll have to dig it up.

I think it is better to double check so that names match exactly with the application, and passports, and marriage certificate and so on.
