I think you can ignore the email. I emailed NVC about unlocking my IV fee invoice more than a month ago. I received a reply email saying they'll need 30 more business days. Well, I've already paid the IV fee.

Oh, stay away from the DS-261 unless you feel your case is being processed too fast and you don't mind waiting more!

hahaha I just got off the phone and NVC rep told me they have my form. Finally its into their system now. What a relief!!!

I am finding Nvc a more horrible process than I ever imagined. I feel like my marriage is dangling by thread. I thought we would be seeing a lot of July approvals this week but so far it looks like Nvc is sleeping. I don't know how much more our marriage can tolerate. Whenever we think that we can see the finish line someone stretches the tunnel even more. People say it's govt tactic to stop people from marrying abroad and break marriages. I think their strategy has started to work.

You shouldn't allow their tactic to work. Visa or immigration process won't stop us from loving or marrying abroad. You are almost thru with this process already, soon all this process will be an history.

Called to see if they had a case number for my petition. Not yet.

I've seen others get the case number while their case was approved after mines and received after my receive date. NVC has no rhyme or reason for doing things

It's usually about 3 weeks from the date the NVC receives the case, though I've noticed lately that that wait time has been shrinking a little. I'd estimate you should have a case number within a week or so. :clock:

Yes u cannot. But I have to give an exam and I have a deadline. And I have a letter from ecfmg go give a consideration for the visa because of that exam. It has the deadline of dec2014 so I previously thought it's of no use but now I think I will give it a shot. Worst would be they deny. But I would give it a shot before wasting 1500 dollars of that exam fee which I already paid :)

Maybe you should apply for an expedite as losing the money you paid for your exam ($1500) would be a financial hardship. Just a thought. Ive heard expedites get approved for some strange reasons. It just depends on the individual embassy.

Have you already submitted your documents? If so, NVC apparently does not forward on un-reviewed documents with the expedited petition.

A few friends of mine requested expedites after submitting all documents, the expedites were approved, but the documents in queue are still sitting at NVC.

Yes all documents are gone. I also saw a case in fb where expedite got approved but documents had not reached embassy so it actually caused a delay although visa was approved. But what I have seen here and what the operator at Nvc told me is that there is no way to get documents reviewing expedited but ur interview will be scheduled sooner if expedited. Isn't that what happens?
