OMG you made me gag! I actually had a patient that had brain surgery and when they tried to put the bone back on it kept breaking the bone on the skull and she couldn't have it covered only with skin. To say the least that has to be photoshopped because I can guarentee you can't walk around like that.

Sorry, that wasn't meant. It does reminds us, however, that we are blessed in many ways. As terrible as this NVC process is, I'll take it over many other calamities in this world.

I thought you only needed to include the beneficiary's documents in the IV package (except for the marriage certificate which contains the petitioner's name)? http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

As NLR said, it was for an IR-5 visa (visa for parents of a USC). There's a couple petitioner documents needed in the IV package (birth and marriage certificates). As an IR-1/CR-1, you don't need to worry about that

I have a question for you though -- are you taking more than your clothes etc……are you allowed to take furniture, electronics, etc when you cross the border as an immigrant, without any extra taxes or duties imposed on you?

I am asking this because eventually when i do move to the US, I want to take some really nice things i bought here (mostly furniture and some really cool electronics). is that duty free or so we have to pay duty on it? Would you happen to know or be aware of it?

Your goods could accompany you or shipped later duty free. There is a form to fill that is linked in the article.

I'm June 26 and feeling your pain. I spoke to a guy (didn't catch his name) on Thursday night (our time) and he gave me the 60 days story. I then spoke to supervisor Betsy and told her that I have seen approvals after my date and she insisted that that doesn't happen and they work on first in first out with their mail. She refused to acknowledge that it was happening, when clearly on VJ we can see that it is.

Next week will be our week xx (I have been saying that for the past 14 months, but really! Next week is our week! )

same here seem like they just skip 26 of June, wish we knew some one case number before us that got cc, so we could tell them , so wrong hope we get cc soon

For question: In which occupation do you intend to work in the U.S?

If we are not looking for anything specific (at least not at the beginning) is it okay to put OTHER and then provide something like ANY AVAILABLE POSITION in the box bellow ?

Sounds too desperate.

How about a more generic choice such as Service Sector or even, Undecided Yet. I would put my dream work (if there is such a thing). It's not binding anyway since you're not in an employment based visa category.

Just got off the phone with NVC. The agent told me everything looks perfect and no additional docs etc are required at the time of the interview. What a relief

Just got off the phone with NVC.. (nakatawag din sa wakas) confirmed! Case complete last august 1.. last document scanned on june 20.. got the case complete email today, august 8. No schedule for interview yet.. i was stunned that i never heard the "thank you for calling the national visa centet......" the moment i dialled the "1", someone already picked the phone..

Congratulations, you are the third person to tell that calls to NVC are getting answered quickly. Maybe they hired additional staff.

Well, our expedite request on the basis of my husband's French visa expiring was denied. I wasn't too hopeful, but now we have to try to figure out work contract extensions, visa renewals, and new short-term living arrangements in Paris, all of which is so expensive. I never thought I'd get sick of living in France, but I miss the US!

I'm glad to see a few new case completes! I hope we all see some progress on our cases very soon!

We are in the same situation. Expedited got denied and we gave same reason as you too. But the prefecture gave an extension for us - we asked for 2 months extension after the expiration of our CDS and we got it, and fortunately this would cover the interview date.

They want the Petitioners and Sponsors and Co-Sponsors birth certificate or naturalization papers (copies) for the AOS.

For the AOS you only need joint sponsor and household member proof of citizenship or LPR status. Petitioner's isn't required.

For IR5 - visa for a parent of a USC - the petitioner's original (or certified copy) birth certificate and all marriage certificates are required for the IV package.
