This is our 6th NVC thread and I reallyreallyreally hope it's the last.

Thank you everyone who offered their support in the last thread I know this process is an emotional roller-coaster ride...

I cannot believe you are still at the NVC.... HOW CRAZY

I wish there had been a way to live in states with ur spouse on a temporary visa till this process gets finished. Why o why!!!

I called this morning and spoke to Annette, who seemed to be a competent adult. I read these words to her off a piece of paper I wrote on so I wouldn't jumble my words: "I need to confirm that the approval of my husband's embassy change to Buenos Aires, Argentina reset my DS-261 to July 18 even though it was received June 4, and even though I was told by NVC that the embassy change would not delay our process in any way."

Her response, after putting me on hold: "Actually, your DS-261 was reviewed early this morning." I was floored and quite shocked after what Fiona had told me last night. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she told me that's what she did while I was on hold. I asked Annette if that meant that the IV payment would finally become available and she said that yes, it should be available very soon. So I don't even know what to think. She asked if I had sent in the AOS package and I said yes, and that the scan date they had given me was July 1. She said that was correct, but that it would take a bit longer. I said oh, don't worry, I know, 30 business days, and she kind of laughed. It was a completely different and infinitely better experience than the one I had last night. And not just because I got some sort of good news, but because the person on the other end of the line was competent and professional.

I've worked in customer service. My first job was selling concessions at a large movie theater. I've been a waitress and a bartender. I've answered info@ email addresses for companies answering the same questions over and over again. Working for the general public sucks. It just does. It will make you despise humanity sometimes. So I am always extremely polite with these phone operators because I'm sure they have people yelling at them all day long for things that are completely out of their control, and I know, to a certain extent, what that feels like. It doesn't bother me if they sound tired or even a bit exasperated, and I always say thank you at the end of the call. But this young woman last night, Fiona, was completely out of line in the way she spoke to me from the beginning. I lost my temper with her and I don't even feel bad about it. I will file a complaint, and I hope something is done. She should not be working there.

Oh and sorry, I should clarify, for those of you who obsessively study timelines and count business days, like me I don't have a lawyer, got help from a Senator's aide who demanded a supervisor review. Definitely lucky, and it is horrible that so many people have waited so long for a IV invoice.

Also, I am more than willing to share the email I sent to my Senator's office with anyone who is interested. I don't know for sure that it made a difference, but still happy to share if it would be useful to anyone.

my husband has been married to an American citizen for 9 months and still cannot legally set foot in the US in any way shape or form.

My brain was so addled by NVC, I actually had to pause to fathom this sentence (who is married to whom?) !!!

Exactly! They say they don't issue us tourist visa becasue we showed immigrant intent. But showing immigrant intent is the exact reason why we wouldn't want to screw up the chance of not wanting an illegal life where we want to spend the rest of our life. I wish they had brains and heart and some of those ppl who made these rules would actually have gone thru this process only then they would have thought like us!

Logic won't avail us here. Issuing a visitor visa to an IV applicant violates a clear and blunt dual intent ban rule. Maybe some lobby group could push to repurpose the K1 fiancé visa to encompass pending IR-1/CR-1 filings the moment NOA2 is issued.

Aww! Gosh I really hope that interview comes quickly, I should consider making that coffee delivery to NVC. WAKE UP GUYS!!

We're so thrilled to finally be together. His arrival combined with starting an amazing new job a couple of months ago (my last was a real soul sucker) has made life very nearly perfect. It's just not easy for him settling in here, so there are good days and bad. When he has a job and has met some people in the area I think he'll feel a lot better, but the past month without those things have been hard on him. It all takes time and he's doing great as far as I'm concerned! Every day is a step forward

Congrats on the new job! I think it's totally normal to have some bad days during the 'adjustment period' after POE. Fingers crossed he gets a great job soon and makes some really cool friends You guys will get through this... together

That said, although I lived in the US for a few years, I am still pretty nervous about moving back there. Don't get me wrong, I am super excited to finally start a life with my hubby, but... still sooo stressed!

Just checked my tracking for the AoS package, it's been delivered!!! Maybe I should call and see if they'll pick it out of the mail and just review it right now, it would really save everyone some time that way.

In all seriousness though, I feel for the people at the NVC that have this workload. I'm pretty sure no one wakes up and wants to go to work and disappoint their customers all day long and feel swamped and behind and rushed. I've worked in an industry that went through similar backlogs once and the general public definitely had the same impression of a bunch of people sitting around crushing their dreams. In reality the people processing the files were trying their absolute best, they were stressed, there were tears and blow ups and bad attitudes and apologies and turn over, etc, etc.

The conditions that caused this backlog were 100% out of the control of the workers at the NVC and they are trying their best and keeping that in mind helps a bit. (keeps telling myself these things in an effort to brainwash myself and stay calm)

Did a quick read about K3 (didn't know about it):

1. K3 takes as much time to approve as I-130.

2. Consulates stop processing K3 once I-130 is approved, anticipating imminent IR-1/CR-1 issuance.

3. Thanks to NVC, "imminent" stretches to several months now.

What was the purpose of K3 again? Baaah... what do I know!

Can someone please tell me if all the checklist cover sheets are the same? I received a false checklist when my AOS was accepted. I'm waiting on an IV checklist email that contains the cover sheet. I'm not sure how long the email is going to take to get here. I was told I got the checklist over the phone 2 days ago. Can I use the false checklist cover sheet with the IV Docs I have to send in?

Does anyone think supervisors review really matters. It's been 40 plus days since my ds 261 was received and yesterday the operator put in a request for review. . I Also Sent my iv supporting documents per her advice although I haven't been invoiced. Has anyone done this?

I saw your post that you did this and I'm wondering the same thing. What did you use as a cover letter to send in your IV documents??
