I saw someone's timeline, that person submitted DS-261 on July 7th and got their IV bill invoiced on July 14th, 2014. Its all about luck I guess. Just hang in there. Prayers work...!!!

haha, not sure if it was my timeline, but those are my dates. And sorry to mention this for the billionth time :) But I believe my IV was invoiced so fast because I got my Senators involved and one of them demanded a supervisor review. The day after the review was requested, voila, my IV invoice appeared. I figure, If a supervisor had to open the case anyway, why not hit approve on one little form? Idk though... just a theory.

A thought about really fast DS-261 approvals (like the example just mentioned above): I heard a long time ago that for USCIS, when they're training someone new, they'll take a file out (typically a recent one) and go over that one with the new person (and thus reviewing that case much faster than the usual wait times). So, the same thing might be happening with those really fast DS-261 approvals.

true because I just now saw another timeline, submitted DS-261 on July 18th (same date as ours :cry2: ) and they got IV bill invoiced July 21. :huh2: . I cant believe...!! Yes there are some fast approvals currently as these examples quote but maybe for some its just a waiting game

Samreen, I think the person was saying that they didn't sent their Urdu Nikkah nama to NVC that's what they got checklisted for, not totally sure though.

Also, when you got PCC, what's the validity period for it? Is it 3 months or 6 months? Because I am thinking to get one for my wife since NVC is not too clear about it.

Oh ok ok! I got worried. I submitted English uru both plus marriage certificate but I didn't get anything attested or certified by translator since someone told me that organs issued by official authority don't need to be attested. So praying for no checklist.

And my Pcc was for 6 months. U apply for it right now since it will be a week till u get it. And send it right away after the invoice!

Yes, the person only submitted English version of marriage certificate and missed the native language (Urdu nikkahnama) in their IV docs I guess.

I did get all originals certified from foreign office, Islamabad when I was their in January this year.

I just submitted DS 261 on August 1st so I still got some time to gather all the IV documents since IV bill invoicing is taking forever and I am not planning on sending IV documents before getting an inoice and paying the fee :) But that's good to know that PCC is vlaid for 6 months. I will have my wife start working on it so she can get it by 3rd week of August.

Thanks again for all your help so far, I am sure your expertise will be required till I get a CC :)

Not to mention folks, NVC would still have to review the DS-260, which is only available AFTER the IV bill is paid. So, you're really not saving any time...

If I were you, I'd wait to send the IV package with the appropriate cover sheet at the right time. Because not only are you not saving much time, but there's also a chance NVC will lose your originals/certified copies. And from what I've seen here, for some of you, that can mean months to get another set.

You should be putting this too in your wiki because many people are asking about mailing the IV package with AOS coversheet.

No, it doesn't take 60 days to review. But as I said, it does take time to just get to the form itself. The current average, based on the data on my new spreadsheet, is 29 calendar days. And although it may be just one page, I'm sure that after they review it, they have to press a few buttons to get the IV bill invoiced. It's not like it takes two seconds.

And I think some people are failing to realize just how many applications NVC is currently handling. It's not just 1000 or 2000. It's hundreds of thousands of cases. And with the influx of adjudicated cases from USCIS, the number just keeps on growing each week. Obviously, they're not all at the same spot at NVC, so not every single case currently at NVC is submitting the DS-261, but there's still a big chunk doing that. And I don't know if NVC has people specifically that just review DS-261s all day, or if each person works on different tasks throughout the day. So, you need to keep all this in mind.

Now, by no means am I justifying the "rightness" of it all. Obviously, there's better ways to implement all of this and have shorter review times. But, I'm just trying to explain the current process and how it all works.

me thinks that since the private sector is running NVC and the politicians say the private sector is the best way to do things, we have proven them wrong.

if the private sector has increase in business they normally hire more people. the company running NVC - I think it is SERCO - is maximizing profits instead of hiring more staff which we pay for in delays.

Oh God I hope I don't get a checklist for that! Ppl told me here that originals don't need to be certified if they are issued from issuing authority. I did get the nadra birth and marriage certificate both certified by foreign ministry just not the Nikah Nama.

My letter to President Obama on the issue (no hope of real change coming from this just venting my frustrations):

"Dear Mr. President,

My name is thedude6752000 and I have petitioned the government for my wife, who is currently an Indian national residing in that country, to get a visa to come live with me here. I just wanted to thank you, you majesty King Obama, for your DACA amnesty, put into place completely in defiance of the US Congress and Constitution. Although I doubt you care, in addition to the 7 months at the USCIS I had to endure without my wife, I am now coming to find out that the National Visa Center has extended the wait time for every piece of paper they process from 30 to 60 days as a result of the backlog created by your brazenly illegal amnesty polices. I really appreciate all the help you've given to people who have no legal right to be in this country at the expense of people patiently waiting in line to come here the right and legal way. I especially appreciate the fact that I will pass my first wedding anniversary next month alone and without my wife. That's hope and change I can really believe in, because unlike your empty promises to "fix the immigration system for people playing by the rules" I am sure this will come to pass.

In closing I would just like to say that I cannot wait to vote straight Republican in November (and I say this as a former OFA Deputy Field Organizer in Florida)and even to help the Republicans here in Virginia organize and get out the vote, in order to do my small part to further ruin the last years of your useless Presidency, just as you have ruined my life and shattered my marriage.

Sincerely, thedude6752000, spouse of a non-resident alien who was dumb enough to follow the law in your new lawless America"

The truth of the matter is the new cases of K-1 visas of same sex couples are flooding the system causing serious backlogs. The K1 visa time line usually is short, but the process is causing everything to be longer( even k1) since many countries do not allow couples of the same sex to marry.

HI,

I called today and they said that they got my 261 on July 27th and that they got an e-mail from me on August 6th. That e-mail will be my AOS docs using EP. My question is: will I get an e-mail when they actually open the e-mail and add it to my file? What date do I use for documents scanned when I am using EP?

Thanks
