I'm hoping my IV invoice comes soon but still no luck. It seems like many are having success with sending their IV documents in early so that's what I decided to do.

If I was doing snail mail I would never, EVER want to part with my precious documents on a whim or a hope, but I figured I am doing Electronic Processing so I have nothing to lose by trying.

I sent everything in without a barcoded sheet since I read it is not required for EP. Wish me luck

Did you submit Police Clearance Certificate along with your IV documents?

This makes more sense now, one if my friends who is in the process was also told by one of the reps from NVC that she did not need a police certificate.

I don't know of anyone who did not submit one, everyone that I know did get one. Oh man I can either request it and send it in...or keep it if they ask. The only dilemma is that if I keep it and they ask for it; then my process is delayed for another 60 days. Oh man, what to do.

I actually sent the police character certificate to NVC. I am not sure but I think I read somewhere that islamabad embassy asked for it to one of the applicant at the time of interview. So I just played it safe and sent it with my civil documents. Again not sure if they need it or nor but my case got completed without any issues.

Hope this helps

Police certicate is not required from Pakistan. If u want to send it to be safe hi ahead and send. But I don't think u need to send it for different cities. Just send from ur current one. And u will be fine even if u don't send it because a lot of ppl don't. I saw a few ppl getting a checklist but they called Nvc right away and mentioned that it's not required according to travel.state.gov and their checklist was removed! Good luck.

My husband did send the one from Lahore so hopefully we'll be alright. I'll just ask him to make the other city one too and keep it on hand, just in case they ask. Thank you :)

I have been worrying about this document thing all evening, and I called my husband and he assures me there is no other place to get these certificates. AND here's the quotes from the NVC website about the documents that are needed, and they all say you get them at the Civil Registry! So it seems like this must be a false checklist. I really hope so, otherwise I won't know what to do! I did send an email to the embassy just to see if they would respond any quicker than NVC is likely to!

Documents Birth Certificates

Available. Anyone may request a copy of a person's birth certificate at the Civil Registry (see address under "Police Record"). The request will be granted immediately if the subject's name, date and place of registration, and identity card number are provided. Failure to provide complete information will lead to delays. The immediately available birth certificate will not include the names of the parents. Certificates including full information are available, but take longer. There may be a fee for this service.

Marriage Certificates

Available. The Certificado de Matrimonio is available from the Civil Registry of the place where the marriage took place. Since 1885, only the civil ceremony has been legally effective to create a marriage, although religious ceremonies are often held as well. The certificate sets out the names and identity card numbers of the contracting parties, the place and date of the marriage, and bears the signature and seal of the Civil Registrar. At the time of the marriage, a booklet called the Family Book (Libreta de Familia) is issued and contains spaces to record the birth and deaths of children born to the couple, as well as the deaths of the contracting couple. Nevertheless, official certificates of marriage should be required rather than rely upon the Libreta de Familia. Divorce certificates in Chile do exist, therefore Divorce Decrees are also available at the Civil Registry. There may be a fee for this service.
