They need to have one just for South America since we are UNIQUE! :Dcelebrate009.gif celebrate009.gifsmileys-pharaoh-921400.gifcelebrate009.gifcelebrate009.gif

so i emailedc NVC and requested and expedite for medical reasons. the expedite was dated 7/9/2014. on the 17th i received an email asking for my spouses phone number, which i provided on the same day. ever since that email i have been actively calling NVC and asking about the status of the case and i keep getting the same answer. " WE ARE WAITING FOR THE CONSULATE TO RESPOND"

i spent most of this week looking at plane ticket to go see my wife then yesterday i emailed the consulate myself and basically asked " what in the name of God is going on" ....(this is funny) 45 min latter i got an email back telling me that they have approved my expedite on the 17th and that they have received several email from the NVC regarding this expedite request and they have been emailing them with the approval.

as you can imagine this made me very pissed. so i called the NVC and asked tot talk to a supervisor.... "nice lady" she said that they haven't received anything from the consulate. so i told her my little story and how i got a response in 45 min.

she told me to forward the email to the NVC expedite email. so i did..........now 2 days latter, i called and they still have no news for me.

what should i do??

I say contact the Embassy tell them your getting no where with NVC see what they can do. NVC are a bunch of idiots. So sorry your going through this. :((F) (L) (F) Praying all is well with your wife.

AOS question for people with Mumbai consulate experience.

I have received checklist from NVC regarding AOS. It says following.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

______F - FINANCIAL EVIDENCE:______________________________________

The NVC has received the information you have submitted in reference to the Affidavit of Support. Please be advised that the Affidavit of Support information you have provided does not appear to meet the minimum income requirement according to the current poverty guidelines to sponsor the intending immigrant(s) for this petition. The consular officer will make a decision regarding this requirement at the time of your interview. In order to avoid delays, you may wish to submit an additional Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) for a/another Joint Sponsor to the National Visa Center to assist in sponsoring the intending immigrants. To view the current poverty guidelines, visit http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-864P.pdf.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My income is below poverty line. But I have more than enough assets in checking account to cover five times the difference between poverty line and yearly income. I did not get co-sponsor because according to I 864 instructions I met income requirement by adding my assets to my annual income. I called NVC and they told me that assets are not taken into account at NVC stage and consular officer will make a decision regarding this requirement at the time of your interview. Lady at NVC told me to check Mumbai consulate practice on how they handle assets to meet the minimum income requirement.

Is there any one here with similar situation at Mumbai consulate? Did consular officer consider your assets? Please share your experience.

Thank you in advance.

Dear Saylin and other members,

do you think this is a false checklist?

Few members including NLR from Canada thinks that this is a false checklist.

Hi, I am new to this thread. Quick Question;

What do you guys think is faster? EP processing or snail mail?

Moot point in your case as Australia is not eligible for EP. Snail mail is your only option.

I would call and ask for a supervisor review- NVCinquiry can take 30 business days to send you a response. I hope you get it all sorted out! :(

Though I'm not going through Chile, I had a similar problem with a marriage certificate. Request a supervisor review (and if needed talk to one) and it should get sorted out; i do recommend getting a certified copy and sending that in just in case though (and add a letter describing the situation)

Thanks, Nellyator and Dirk! I just got off the phone with NVC and the call center agent kept trying to convince me that I received a false checklist even though the checklist specifically refers to "the document you submitted." She half-heartedly tried to connect me with a supervisor, but said none are available. I'll try back tomorrow at 7:30am.

I have been worried about this. We aren't there yet (DS-261 July 17, AOS scanned July 22) but I was assuming that the certificates we had for the I130 would work for the NVC. Now I'm worried that they won't. Great! Please keep me posted. Maybe I can try to call the embassy and speak to someone as well.

Hi Molly! My marriage certificate also passed for the I-130 with no problems. I'll let you know what happens when I call NVC again tomorrow morning. Hopefully it's just a matter of talking to a supervisor, and if not I'll definitely involve the embassy.

Just a note: even though a country may not have its very own regional forum, there will always be some regional thread you can join that encompasses your country. Yours being Mexico, Latin & South America.

Thanks, Saylin! I'll look for those threads.
