NVC Filers - August 2014

Congrats! It would help if you filled out your timeline and/or your signature with all of your dates to let everyone know your progress.

I know there are a few other Chilenos on here, so a quick heads up regarding the IV documents:

I´d heard in the past about NVC document reviewers rejecting the birth and marriage certificates from Registro Civil because they´re not super fancy, so when my husband went to get his certificates he specifically asked the RC worker if she could add an extra stamp or something to make the typical paper they give out look more official. The lady said she´d heard of problems in the past with the unofficial-looking official documents, but that they had worked everything out.

Welp, guess who just got a checklist because "the document you submitted is not an original or certified copy of an original issued by the appropriate government authority."

I sent an email to NVCinquiry copying the Santiago embassy, and will call NVC tonight and the embassy tomorrow when they open. I´ll let you know what happens, but OJO con eso. Any suggestions are welcome!

I have been worried about this. We aren't there yet (DS-261 July 17, AOS scanned July 22) but I was assuming that the certificates we had for the I130 would work for the NVC. Now I'm worried that they won't. Great! Please keep me posted. Maybe I can try to call the embassy and speak to someone as well.

Thanks once again Saylin because if it wasn't for you and this site I would of been sooo lost and I would of wasted a lot of money on a lawyer.. Everyone. inform your self .. watch youtube videos (that's how I filled out my AOS package because I followed step by step a video on youtube NO CHECK LIST ) and of course read and read saylin's wiki ..

Hey all,

I got a checklist cover letter,i dont know what that means...It says to attach the given cover letter with the documents and send it..I dont know which documents are they talking about coz my AOS package has been send and reviewed on 6/23..It also says to submit the ds-261 which i have already submitted on 6/10..I dont know what this email is suppose to mean??Can somebody please help me or tell me please....

I don't know if anyone has answered you or not but can you copy and paste it then someone can help you out.

what is the scan date for your IV package? I aso got issues IV bill on the 30th of June.

im doing EP. They told me they got my stuff on 7/1 for my IV package. So now wait 60 days from 7/1. They told me no scan date for EP. They will review once they open the email. Operator doesn't have much access to EP

I really hope so!! I got an email saying the received my DS-261 and the next step is to pay the IV fee and they will send me an invoice yesterday......... just stalking the CEAC site now to see if its ready to be paid lol

so i emailedc NVC and requested and expedite for medical reasons. the expedite was dated 7/9/2014. on the 17th i received an email asking for my spouses phone number, which i provided on the same day. ever since that email i have been actively calling NVC and asking about the status of the case and i keep getting the same answer. " WE ARE WAITING FOR THE CONSULATE TO RESPOND"

i spent most of this week looking at plane ticket to go see my wife then yesterday i emailed the consulate myself and basically asked " what in the name of God is going on" ....(this is funny) 45 min latter i got an email back telling me that they have approved my expedite on the 17th and that they have received several email from the NVC regarding this expedite request and they have been emailing them with the approval.

as you can imagine this made me very pissed. so i called the NVC and asked tot talk to a supervisor.... "nice lady" she said that they haven't received anything from the consulate. so i told her my little story and how i got a response in 45 min.

she told me to forward the email to the NVC expedite email. so i did..........now 2 days latter, i called and they still have no news for me.

what should i do??

I really hope it wasn't a tease email sent on accident or something. Maybe I can send the NVC cupcakes everyday to make them fat and happy so they will speed up
