Hello VJ Friends,

I just paid my AOS & IV Fees today (I have a lawyer) and I'm currently trying to get my tax transcrips from the IRS website but it looks like it's not working. :( Is it ok if I just send the Tax Return I got from my Tax Preparer in the AOS Packet? Also, I'm currently waiting for the Police Certificates....will I get checklisted if I provide proof from the embassy that we're working on getting it or should I just wait until we get the police certificates (about 3+mos)?

I need advice and help.

I was checking my IV package and realized that my wife's original birth certificate is laminated. I tried to take it off but it is too tight to remove without damaging the original.

Does NVC have any issues if the original is laminated. Anyone has any insight into this.

BTW: I am still waiting for IV to be invoiced. I submitted DS-261 on June 8th.

The only experience I have is that my daughter's laminated BC wasn't accepted when I went to register her for a SSN in Portland, OR. I went back with my daughter's US passport and the loon who probably hadn't taken her meds wouldn't accept it as proof of my daughter's US citizenship. I ended up being escorted from the Social Security office because Looney Tunes refused to explain to me how being a US passport holder daughter was not proof of USC... :rolleyes:

:ot2: But the upshot of that episode was that laminated docs are not accepted as any security features cannot be closely inspected is what Social Security in Washington DC told me; makes sense that would apply to other Gov departments. Your wife getting a new copy of her BC will probably still be quicker than being dragged through a checklist because it was laminated...

a letter won't do anything. They already acknowledged the problem and sent a letter . they covered their butts. I just think they under estimated the wait time. They did the same thing at the USCIS last year. The NVC can't handle the flow of approved cases coming from the service centers. So they fixed one problem and now they are faced with another. Maybe they can hire more people when the year is over and the new budget kicks in. I don't believe ÑVC is run by fees collected like the USCIS.

I had nor have any hope it will help at all but I guess it's something to do. smiley-confused013.gif

Don't touch the DS-261. This is a false checklist that you were sent because they have reviewed and accepted your AOS package. They sent you a checklist for the next thing in the IV track that they haven't reviewed yet, which in your case is the DS-261. Cheers on getting through the AOS review with no checklist!

Hi Guys, I have a facebook group, I think some guys are in that group, so the majority of people there got the 60 days wait email and we are so mad and worried about it... we really want to do something because it is horrible that NVC has a terrible work day by day, a friend in the gruop had the idea to write a letter and talk with news channels, in conclusion do something with this problem because we really need to be with our family...please if you want to support this idea or you have more ideas let me know, we need more and more people so NVC could listen to us... Thanks

I am sorry I cannot answer if they will send you a true checklist since YOU think you made 2 mistakes. Personally I hope they don't All you got to do is relax and call Monday Nvc.

From what I've read here from other members . IF there is a checklist it will follow up the next 2 days . Hope you get through this like you please.

Seems like NVC is working on the weekends. I just received my IV FEE INVOICE and i checked on the CEAC website and it is ready to be paid. Go NVC!!. I wanna hear this from more people!!. Good luck everyone and God Bless us all.
