I and my Philippine wife are living in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. We were given an interview in Ciudad Juarez in August. Since that time, almost everyone we know say that is the most dangerous city in the world and that we should cancel our interview and start over again. If anyone out there has knowledge of people interviewing there having major safety problems, please post this to us as we feel both the United States and Mexico should never pit innocent lives at risk, especially when there are many cities in Mexico that are quite safe compared to the USA, like San Miguel de Allende. Should we cancel our interview and start over again. We just plan to stay in our hotel and go out only when we have to do the medical and the interview. We are safety conscious and plan to take precautions. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You have no choice, all interviews are held there.

Hi, it is actually pretty safe there. my husband had to go twice in September 2013 and May 2014. he stayed at the ibis hotel both times which is walking distance to everything. he said there is tons of security there and everyone is really helpful. there were tons of americans there too and no issues at all. there are bad parts of all places, he used to live in Morelos, and certain parts are bad there too however, as for CDJ, stay in the local vicinity as where everything there is and, dont hang out in the middle of the night, and its not bad at all. good luck.

I don't know why you would want to cancel your interview and start again? When you are so close to the finish line!

Unless there are other things going on.

Many people are in dangerous countries.

You could interview in Manila.

Everyone in Mexico goes through CDJ. Check out the Mexico forum for tips, but my impression is that the embassy area is safe. Good luck.
