When filling out the DS-160 for fiancé visa and asked receipt number, do you put the receipt number that the service center gave you that started with EAC or do you put the receipt number that NVC gave you before going to embassy. I am a little confused because they both start with 3 letters and have same amount of numbers.

In our case, when we first filled out the DS-160 form online, there was no receipt number obviously.

But after my fiancée paid $240 at the bank, a day or two later when we went back to

enter the receipt number, it showed up automatically...

though it still shows the button to enter the receipt number.

I don't have my file handy at the moment,

but our number started with 46xxxxxxx and I recall it was about 10 digits or so.

Did you pay online or at some designated location?

When you paid, you should have gotten the receipt number at the time.

Assuming what we did is correct.

In any case, it got processed and we receive packet 4 email subsequently

and done medical exam and waiting for interview in mid August.

I mean which is the case number that you put in DS-169 - is it the number that Texas service center assigns to you or the case number that national visa center gives you which is specific to embassy that you will be interviewing at.

The number that it is requested when filling out the DS160 form is the receipt number, that came with the NOA1,

The NVC letter says the receipt number and the case number, which should start with SDO#
