I do think it's interesting how people assume other people have had an easy or hard life. Some people spend the rest of their lives looking down upon others because they feel they've risen above. Maybe the privileged have always felt that way, but maybe their life wasn't any easier than a child growing up in the ghetto, in fact it may have been harder. Assumptions always seem to get in the way of genuinely learning something.

We had a really long talk about this the other day in my house. I'm not going to share anything about my teenage years on here, but basically say anything bad that could have happened did happen and I got in way over my head time and time again. My husband doesn't quite get why I think that those with a super easy and happy upbringing should not be whining or playing off it and he thinks that a certain family member should get a free pass because they weren't popular as a child and it really upset them, so as an adult we should all be nice to them. My jaw basically hit the floor. Maybe because I'm not stupid enough to share with everyone everything that people don't get how rough it was for me, but freaking seriously?

My husband, bless his soul, is so pure and so good, that he really doesn't understand the horrors of the world and expects me to take pity on someone that has gone through like 1% of the stuff I did. I just don't get it and I do look down on people that really, in fact, did have an easy life (based on intimate knowledge of their life, of course) but are just so freaking pathetic that they don't get it.

OMG I just remember, I was telling the hubs something one day, and he looks at me and says I don't think I can say I never ate raccoon I think I had it as jerky.

I remember going to a parent teacher conference for one of my kids. I was meeting with the combined Math and Science teacher and found out she didn't know the difference between a scientific hypothesis and a scientific theory. I tried to explain it and she insisted I was wrong, so I just dropped it. Then I looked closer at how she had added up my daughter's total points in the classes so far. Can you guess this result? Also wrong. smh

Yes she was. Even though it was an elementary school, they had a separate teacher for Math and Science, because those were important classes and required better instruction. In theory this was good, not to be mistaken for scientific theory, in practice they hired that woman.

Around here they have non certified ppl as teachers. Way too many classes have someone who is not a certified teacher and it shows.
