Part of the problem was that I had undiagnosed gestational diabetes probably. My blood sugars always look normal because I've got renal glycosuria but my insulin levels were probably way out of control. I didn't gain any weight until 16 weeks and then I gained like 40 pounds or maybe more after that?

My first wife gained weight at both our kids. She never lost an once after either of them. She'd be 400 lbs if she had as many kids as Stretch.

Well I had gotten down to my pre-kiddo weight before I married the Dane, but as has always been the case I seem to gain 5 lbs per miscarriage that I can't shake. I'm about 15 pounds above my 21 year old weight. I could lose it now with the meds I'm on, but I've been eating ####### food and not exercising. Good news is it is really hard to gain weight when your meds block sugar absorption.

Speaking of which, I think I should go for a long walk today before it rains again.

My first 4 I gained a tone of weight but it dropped like the day the were born. The last two well I lost it all by 6 weeks, it's just too bad I started at more then 110bls this time around. I don't want to be that thin again but I wouldn't mind getting rid of the weight I gain since moving here. I'm going to start running soon if it doesn't affect feeding Lucas if it does I will have to wait till he is a year old before I try again.

I'm doing good with my wife to just not gain more! She managed to put about 15 to 20 on me with her cooking and instance I was too skinny. And she doesn't want me to lose any either. I think I've manged to sneak a couple pounds off, but when ever I start making headway on it, she starts insisting for me to eat more.

Since we're getting rainy days, are you getting your ceiling? Or is it not rainy enough now?

I was interested honestly in why...

No you weren't. The proof of that is in scoffing at the answer - or really just asking it rhetorically in the first place.

You were interested in trying to put us on the defensive. I've had it all my life, going through public schools. Nobody prepared me for it. They have pejorative names for you. The exam scores are posted on the teachers' doors, and even though your name is not on it, everyone knows who it is. It is surprising how spiteful people can be - and not just the other kids, but the teachers themselves.

Some say the problem in the USA is public schools. I don't think so. Look at Finland for example. We would send our kids to public school there. They just place a high value on education. You don't see guilt-tripping or shaming children and parents for knowledge in Finland. A very pro-learning culture. Learn to read at age 2? Great! The math teachers in Finland actually know math too.

This whole common core hoo-rah isn't going to fix anything.

Thank God (lol!) we are in a state where Homeschool by parents has no registration, no oversight, no teacher qualifications, no testing - nothing. Namely, no justifying to anyone what we're doing.
