my husband has this habit of filling up a glass, gulping it down till there's just one swallow left, then leaving the cup on the counter. that cup won't get washed until there's no clean cups left. also, setting food down on the counter without a plate, leaving cupboard doors open after taking something out, using a knife then leaving it in the sink...

however...whenever we have an argument, he gets so upset he can't focus on his writing or games. a lot of times he ends up doing the dishes, laundry, folding the clothes...

i told him once i need to get into more arguments with him cos the house gets a nice makeover each time he's upset :P

Oh open cupboards drive me nuts. My husband re uses his cup but he is bad at leaving a mess. My biggest pet peave is when he leaves his socks all over the house, or worse leaves his cloths on the floor right next to the darn laundry basket. :girlwerewolf2xn:

Oh that is normal man behavior. Every time I enter a room I do a visual search for empty glasses because 50% of the time, there is one if my husband has been in the room since last inspection. I don't believe he knows how to operate a dishwasher or a washing machine, although I am sure this might be intentional on his part.

Mine does this too and his excuse is "I didn't know whether the clothes in the hamper were clean". Now, see, there are several logical issues with this:

Why would the hamper be in its usual place full of clean clothes?

Why not just smell them to check?

lol dutch is a smart man.

we don't really use the dishwasher in our house. we mostly do them by hand. sometimes when there are just too many, like we've had guests or we cooked an elaborate meal, then maybe we'll put some things in there. we've only used it twice since we moved in.

what are the chores that are considered "man chores", i.e. the husband's job? in our household, it's taking the trash out and vacuuming the carpets.

Flying to Seattle on 6 May 2014!

All this cooking and cleaning talk got me thinking about hubby-to be and I.

He's the cooker (delish food!) and cleaner, I sit in bed reading while he folds clothes. Not used to that, in Sydney i'm the fussy cleaning one!

My husband thinks he can cook, he has terrible taste. He does do smoked meats well so I let him do that.

Since I have 4 boys well Lucas is too small still but all work is mans work in my house. Hubby doesn't do much house work since it's done before he get home from work. I do laundry on Saturdays he does help fold cloths. He cuts the grass from time to time.

I dunno what to make for dinner.

Hubs got a 100 on his last test and was the only person in his class to do so. The instructors again are pushing for more instructors. The pay is really good BUT you have to live in OKC for 5 years. For us, it's just not worth it. His current job comes along once in a lifetime. When he was hired we had no idea where he would be working as there were openings all over the country including Alaska. I'm pretty happy we wound up in Denver.

Yay hubs!

It's something i'm still getting used to! with previous guys i'd have to beg and nag for them to do anything. Si just starts tidying up, he makes cleaning fun!

He introduced me to buffalo chicken dip for the first time and I watched him make the whole thing from scratch, i felt butterflies! or maybe gas? jk

On Christmas day he handed my gift over to me very gingerly. When I unwrapped it I was speechless. He had kept the first flower he ever gave me (an oriental lilly) and had finished it so that it remained in the same state as months prior. He built a teak and glass case for it by hand (he used to do cabinet making for his dad's business for 15 years). It's stunning! He's a thoughtful bloke :)
