My husband talks so loudly in Danish. I feel like my ears are being assaulted from the other side of the house. Must he shout? Can he not talk quietly in his native tongue. (L) Him, but just wishing he'd tone it down a little.

My wife is the same way in her native tongue, the volume skyrockets! Then she says Americans talk loud. Her English is probably too soft, but her native languages are through the roof, and she wonders why I'll leave the room when she's on the phone, you can't hear a thing when she's talking

I know....and it drives me up the wall...this was my last attempt...I told him I take responsibility for being so stupid and not questioning him more about things and not making sure he was truly ready but for the rest...it is on him and his mom. I may have also said that he gets this behavior from her...that she got a dog thinking it will just be hers by default and expected the dog to take care of itself and he got me and treated me the same way.....let me just be and expected me to cater to his needs whenever he felt he needed to be babied.....and that plush animal might be a better choice for both of them rather than a dog that is alive and a human being (aka me)...ok I was being angry here and lashed out a little but god i had to ...could not help it.

You needed to say it, he needed to hear it even if it goes out the other ear.

When do you move?

bleh....i am sorry about the screw ups...we stayed at la quinta too in TN lol

It was not terrible and we had a good front desk guy, did not find the breakfast that great but otherwise was good. Hopefully you can resolve this.

I was ready to go into a full blown rant when I got back to the car. My wife reminded me it was our long weekend and not to get upset. I promptly took her advice, so other than telling myself this will not go unresolved, it spoiled nothing but my attitude towards La Quinta hotels. The place we stayed was OK, its due for a remodel but our room was nice enough. Breakfast was OK, certainly nothing great. Had to ask for missing items to get restocked, as stoner clerk was on duty during breakfast, and he wasn't paying attention even though it was quite busy with people grabbing items. Pretty standard continental breakfast, but when you only put out one carafe of milk you need to keep checking it, and letting coffee run out is unforgivable. I found it interesting most guests just ignored when things running out, but when running for them when I went to the front desk to ask that they refill things. Maybe they didn't ask because the front desk clerk was hiding around the corner and not visible.

That one might just piss him off as it hits things right on the mark. I find you can really piss people off when its impossible for them to ignore a complaint because they know its true yet would prefer to pretend they are not that way.

So do I, particularly when I laugh. My wife is always saying don't laugh so loud, because people will look. They're just jealous they're not having a good time!

RANT - I can't talk to my medical insurance provider about my wife's medical claims accumulation, without her on the phone. HIPAA sucks. I am the primary plan holder, this is ludicrous !

Yah that is pretty crazy sometimes. I was trying to deal with my insurance company about a bill for my daughter who is covered under my plan. It got billed to my daughter and my insurance, although it was really my mother who had been to the hospital. I had power of attorney for my mother's affairs and health. But they refused to talk with me about it. But they would talk to the daughter, who the hospital had accidentally billed, who had no say over the person's accounts who actually should have been billed, and I was the one paying for the insurance. What a mess that was.

Or change the password and contact information on his WoW account

That does suck. I have a similar issue in my knees, its no fun when it acts up. I can't even imagine what it would be like in a hip joint!

Oh need to share this from this weekend. On our drive back this weekend, we stopped to meet another Fil/Am couple in Wisconsin, they put together a bit of a get together with some other local Filipinas and husbands. One of the Filipina was from a muslim area and muslim herself. Well they made some shish kabobs on the grill, some her pork and other's lamb, the lamb ones were for her. When she arrived late, she started eating and unknown to her had grabbed from the pork shish kabob plate. She starts commenting on how very good they were, and everyone was afraid to tell her the mistake she had made

I didn't know if I should laugh or feel bad after either. Filipino muslims can be pretty upset when they accidentally eat pork, which is why no one probably wanted to let her know what she'd done. The hosts went out of their way to make sure something she could eat was provided, you'd think she'd ask, as pork is a big part of the Filipino diet.

Well I hope so, as I don't believe she did it intentionally. Looks like she certainly enjoyed it though!
