Time to start thinking about who's going to start the next thread, and what version of "Rant" it will have in the name, si man.

See last two lines of post above (for real, now), si man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

1. You'll have a(nother) hole in your head, then, huh man?

2. And at least you have one leg left to stand on while the bad one is camping, si man.

Fall activities sound fun, if you avoid becoming a pre-hibernation snack for a brown or polar bear, eat man.

Edit: Have you investigated Mensa's resources for your child prodigy, huh man?

My Father belonged to Mensa, but I don't know much about it. I'll look though. My brother and I have the gene. My brother's kid was homeschooled and off the charts too. This boy is getting a really early start , and that's what's different.

So we want to be really careful about the word prodigy. We were just committed to doing it early. We read peer reviewed literature on these experiments they did with early infant learning. So we wrote to these PhD lead investigators and boy were they gracious with us! They had us make videos for them to review and send comments on. They gave us other papers to read. They didn't have to do that. But they seemed genuinely interested and happy to work with us.

After that head start it was pretty straightforward with getting into challenging material right away. These scientists were very encouraging with us in giving kids credit for being able to understand on much higher levels than society gives them credit for. So he's smart, but what is going on is that we've started early.

Well Tornado woke up at midnight sounding like a seal. Had to go grab the vaporizer for her room and get her back to bed with out getting her more upset. Wasn't as bad as I imagined, took a bit before I felt like I could leave her and luckily Lucas stayed asleep during that time. She woke up of course nice and early, but does not sound too bad so no need to take her in yet. Bad news is both the little ones are sick with a head cold already, hope they don't get worse.

So I'm sitting here with two little ones and 2 weenie dogs one sleeping and one barking at his own shadow. Pain in the butt dog had to shoo him away from the gate (he is not allowed to roam the house) so he would knock it off.

Oh and I figured out I say knock it off a lot as my the little girl tends to repeat it, good thing I don't swear like a trucker :D

I would be an absolute nightmare if that's what I woke up to. Thank god there's coffee!

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

Since I've been though it more then once it was just a matter of moving fast to keep her relaxed and get the humidifier going. By the time she fell asleep she was breathing perfectly fine. Now if I could just figure out where I put the children's vapo rub.

Amazingly I function with little to no sleep with out coffee!

I don't know how you do it! I'm so impressed with people who can be perky and moving without it. It's an addiction.

Plus, I've just stopped responding to my dog's requests to get up in the middle of the night. I just fake deep sleep.

If I have a dog demanding to go out every night, in the middle of the night, it goes into a kennel for the night. Placed far enough away so they don't disturb me. Its different is a dog that normally sleeps through the night wakes me up, then I know its an emergency, like needs to puke or has the runs, and I better get them out.

Yeah, they don't normally do it. I think it's the weather. That or they're doing it just to annoy me.

second time is the charm...got the wine for risotto. Looking for place to live making appointments. *fingers crossed* Tomorrow is the day....at 10am...at least we have private judge, might be less intimidating ....I might drink some of that wine I bought today and then on Friday I have my driving test. Should probably practice a little more tomorrow evening.

I was going to blow dry my hair last night and the dryer gave up...it was an old piece of junk but it did belong to MIL so I bought her a new one today...hopefully she won't mind it is green. uh.

something is happening with the Jack Russell that is 11 years old..the moment FIL gets in the house...he barks and barks and barks and then.....barks some more and of course that makes the pomeranian go off and bark too and then the schnauzer adds her fair share of barks....my god....I almost threw them all into a crock pot (after shaving off all their fluff of course).

You could pass the Mensa test with your eyes closed, si man. I think that one can also qualify for membership by virtue of GRE scores.

Understood re prodigy vs. early. Early = good, si wee man.

Wonderful that the lead investigators were so cooperative. Most are usually too busy to deal with hoi polloi.

Look through the links herein, some of which might yield fruit:
