So I've gotten up to drinking 1,5 L a day of water, but I can't seem to make the jump to 2 liters. Hmmmm. Our hallway is in the middle of getting a second coat of paint, but the goal of whole house and outside by the front door painted by the end of August has failed. It is good I didn't schedule too much for September.

Work has still not begun on our living room because local lumber yard is really dragging their feet with calculations, so much so that contractor #1 had to move on to other projects, so now we've been waiting for them to get back to contractor #2. Minneslowta. *sigh* Going with an out of towner or not local lumber yard is not going to win us any friends, so wait we will for a while longer. It will need to be done by winter, though.

Monday report, see man:

Awoke coughing at Many a.m.; didn't fall back asleep till giving up at Many:Many a.m., no zzz man.

Mid-morn, took Mrs. T-B. & Mini-B. to Sears, shop man.

Spent $Many (barely still 2 digits in the $ column, ouch man), but on satisfying clearance stuff, whee man.

Also got something from the Many%-off coupon on full- & sales-priced stuff, $i man.

Went to McDonald's with "climbing" play area, wee man.

Spent $Many on lunch, even with use of coupons, sigh man.

Mini-B. asked 2 little boys if they'd play with him; they ignored him, no upbringing man.

Mini-B. crushed to point of tears, sigh wee man.

Other little boy, as talkative and congenial as Mini-B., comes in; they hit it off, wee men.

Big Macs downsized so thoroughly that we order Round Two of lunch, $igh man.

After an hour-plus, we order iced coffees, $igh man.

We drag Mini-B. from there after 2+ hours, wee play man.

We get home at Many p.m., tired man.

Mini-B. not tired enough to nap, endless energy wee man.

Daddy gets good nap for approximately an hour, zzz man.

Cat comes in, parks self under sheet, whacks leg with tail while purring like motorboat, miu man.

Mini-B. soon comes in to announce power-loss of tablet computer & requests to play, wee man.

Daddy plays Catch, Tennis Rackets, Airplanes, & Trains with Mini-B., fatherhood man.

Mrs. T-B. makes "dinner," interesting man.

Mrs. T-B. begs for postprandial nap, she zzz man.

Daddy plays Catch, Trains, Boggle Jr., & Crash-Trains-into-Blocks with Mini-B., fatherhood man.

Mrs. T-B. awakens in un-sour mood and takes over, she zzz man.

Dish the warsher with every plate & most pots in the casa after only 2 days, amazing man.

Make 2 of next week's Many lunches, our turn man.

Thoroughly service cat's litterbox, miu man.

Prepare garbage for taking out, our job man.

Have interesting, lengthy chat with neighboring teenager, young man.

Return upstairs to nearly-zonked-out Mini-B., wee zzz man.

Mini-B. arises to kiss Daddy before reassuming zonk position, wee man.

Back to work tomorrow, sigh man.

2. We were told that the calculations would be back last week, so husband called and left message today, no call back yet (contractor is probably waiting until Tuesday to call lumber yard). It is holding up other projects for the moment and in general, just pissing me off. I need a desk and right now with all the living room furniture crammed elsewhere and house still in disarray, there is just no way.

3 (Yes, 3). Well, probably not originally, but my husband did make sort of a gentleman's agreement with this contractor and we live in a really small town, so best to try and honor that as much as we can.

I get that it is complicated further by them having to lower the ceiling and put back in columns and arches (original calculations determined there was no way to keep current layout), but this is just getting silly.

My wife just started a massage business. She got a portable massage table (heavy!) for fifty bucks at a garage/moving sale that lists for ten times that new. I got a beaver hat at the same place for $10. Well over $100 new, more like closer to $200 made by apocalypse design. It's a sixty below zero expedition quality hat. Boxes full of free toys for the kids.

So anyway, she is with her first client right now. She is starting at $30 an hour plus transportation negotiable. This guy just drove 40 miles one-way to get two hours. Long haul trucker.

So anyway this is a delicate thing with craigslist ads. Someone already asked her for a prostate massage and she said "I only do balls". I told her she probably shouldn't joke around like that even though it was pretty funny. She's pretty clear in her ad that this is just massage, no "happy ending".

She's going to put the money in a jar and save it up so she can take the kids and escape to the Philippines.

Not that I'm back to work I can finally rest up. Long weekend road trip turned into a thousand miles and almost 18 hours of driving. It was worth it though. I'm still irked at the La Quinta in Omaha. Reserved a room with a king sized bed, and got some weird odd sized bed. The bed was about 68 inched wide, not the 76 inches of a king size. But they kept wanting to say its what they call a king size bed. The also closed down the indoor swimming pool on Sunday evening because it was storming outside. Yes it was a sever thunder storm warning, but that storm tracked to the north, and the swimming pool room had less windows than the hotel rooms, what the heII was their worry?

I'd rather stay out of the bars here
