Address not the same on the State ID

Hi,

Is it a problem if your State ID does not have your current physical address? I recently moved and submitted AR11 with USCIS. The problem is that I am not able to get an ID with the new address, since Secretary of State wants bills/statements with the new address and I won't have these until my interview which is pretty soon.

Is this something I need to worry about?

Thanks!

No. You are dealing with a Federal bureaucracy and a State bureaucracy. Each with its own set of rules. As long as you comply with the Federal rules the USCIS will be happy. As long as you can explain the reason for the difference you will be fine. Are you sure about that requirement? For a DL renewal you need to show the new address, but I just completed a form and submitted it to the DVM with the new address and wrote in on the back of my license, but that is for CO.

Yeah, I remember how easy is to get a new address on the ID in NV, but here in IL, its a little complicated, they need prooveof the new address.

One reason they want to see your ID is to check that you have been a resident of your current state for the required amount of time. You need to have been a resident in the state in which you are applying for at least 90 days before you apply. If your old license is an Illinois license, that might work (I'm not sure) as prove even if it has the wrong Illinois address. Whether it is or isn't an Illinois license, you should take something with you that can prove that you've lived in Illinois for 90 days before you applied.

It is an IL license but it was issued in June because I lost my old one. In such a case can I show old bank statements (6 months old for example), or should I take a DMV record for my IL residency?

I really don't know for sure, but I would take anything you can think of to show IL residency and proof of current address. This shouldn't be too hard, so don't get too stressed about it.
