Financial docs for business owners?

I've seen on the guides for K1 visas that business owners should send a List containing serial numbers and denominations of bonds and name of record owner. I understand the name of record owner who is my step father but even he is unsure about the serial numbers and bonds. I tried looking online but can't seem to find anything. I know it seems strange that he doesn't know but can someone clarify this for me? Thanks!

Are you using the bonds as assets to supplement your income? In other words, is your income less than 125% of the poverty level, and you need the asset of the bonds to make up the difference?

Or is it the income from the bonds that you need to show enough income? If you have enough provable and verifiable income already, you don't really need to show assets like stocks or bonds, unless you just want to - if you think it might help your case in some way.

When they ask for serial numbers and denominations, what they're really asking is for you to give verifiable evidence of the actual value of the bonds and proof that you actually own them. So if you can prove that in some way other than using serial numbers, then do so. But I think you're probably going to need the serial numbers. But if you're going to use the bonds you'll have to prove to them in some way what their actual value is and that they belong to you.

By the way, if they're in your step dad's name, they won't really do you any good - unless he's your joint sponsor.

Maybe something on this site can help you: http://www.savings-bond-advisor.com/have-these-bonds-been-cashed/

They have some discussions there where maybe you can ask how to find the serial numbers.

Yeah I should have mentioned I'm using him as a co sponsor. I'm just above the poverty line but I want a sponsor to be sure. His individual income on his taxes is more than enough. I was just looking for more documents to send.
