We just got an email from USCIS that our case (AOS) is currently stuck in the pipeline since Dallas Field Office is still backed up so bad.

We are so tempted to seek help from the Ombudsman and/or State representatives.

Can we seek one before the other? or can we seek both at the same time?

You can ask for help from either or both at the same time. The response will be about the same.

If your case is delayed due to a backlog at the local office, there won't be anything the Ombudsman will be able to do about it.

You might get something out of contacting one of your congressional representatives though.

You can call/write your congressman/senator...and might get some help. I did, and it seems to have helped. Although, what others have said...it'####### or miss...and you're likely to get a similar response as to what you got from USCIS. The Congressman/Senator will send a request...and the USCIS many respond with something similar to what you've already heard. But, stay on it! However, if your case is only a few months old...3 - 5 months...hmmm...you just have to wait. Cases are way backed up. You can thank Obama for that...with his DACA program. So, just take a deep breath and wait a bit longer. Most everyone is in the same damn boat!
