So hm, we sent our AOS documents to Illinois, they went to Nebraska (MSC case code) but the RFE goes to Missouri?!?!

How does it make any sense? Wouldn't they want it with the rest of the documents in Nebraska?

MSC stands for Missouri Service Center, which has now been renamed NBC, National Benefits Center. Never went to Nebraska.

Opinion: There is really no point in deciphering USCIS stuff, or trying to understand their system. Most people post here very confused, but they needn't be confused to try to figure it out, they just need to follow the instructions. Most of the mistakes are on the part of the public.

This isn't really in reference to the original post but my case number also starts with MSC and my notice/receipt said that it was routed to the Nebraska Service Centre. Many recent AOS filers have noticed the same wording in their notices as well. Perhaps USCIS error? Or maybe cases are going to Nebraska, but with MSC case number?

I agree that whatever the case is, the best would just be to follow the instructions. If they say send to Missouri, then that's where it should go.

Flying to Seattle on 6 May 2014!

I'll make sure to follow the instructions then.

Thank you both.

Ours too with MSC numbers but it is sent to Nebraska Service Center. All the NOAs we received are from USCIS, National Benefit Center, Missouri.

Maybe it is processed here and they give it the MSC number and then send it to Nebraska Service Center to deal with it. I heard NSC is slow in processing AOS applications but I am not sure if this is true or not. I will follow the instructions as they want.

Good Luck :)

I have read that they expanded the NBC to include something in Nebraska, but MSC still should be Missouri. I would think Nebraska would be NSC.

It's also possible that they hold them in Nebraska initially and then send them to Missouri for adjudication (or maybe just the EADs).
