LOL I would run across the street in Egypt and Moh would whisper...stop running. I think I embarrased him. Egyptians drivers are scary.

I didnt just run across the street in Rabat, I dragged Ahmed with me.

I soon realized to drive in Morocco you definately needed a horn, and breaks. Last night we were talking about the driving, i let him know here he wouldnt need to worry about donkeys moving along the streets but an occasional dog, cat or squirrel. THen i had to explain squirrel, no squirel is not the same as a mouse

Have you ever heard of the saying that if you do not have anything nice to say, then do not say anything at all.

Hmmm, very curious coming from you since your posts about baggage were sooooo totally nice, right? Yeah, right.

Don't post a link to your site if you don't want visitors.

Goodness you're fantastic at taking on the victim role and blasting people at the same time saying people should be nice. Hilarious.

I want visitors not stalkers. You can no longer see my blogs, so there. A victim, by an online stalker maniac, lol No wonder everyone sees you for what you are on this site.

hehehe, I guess people talk about everyone then cause you have quite the reputation too. VJ, sheesh.

AAAAWWWWWWW!!!! I am being talked about. I better go run and cry!!!!

Yikes. Ms. crazy crazypants. Can you get any more crazy?

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

-Qur'an, Al-Infitar, Surah 82:1-5

I don't agree. I don't think it is on 'just about every thread'. I think it's only on the threads that mean people decide to hijack for their own enjoyment. For the most part, everyone here gets along and has off VJ friendships via email, messenger and phone. Several of us have met in person.

Jackie,

This is just what I was trying to post in a certain thread before it was locked. Many of us are very close, some have met, talk on the phone, chat regularly, and often is has been working through those disagreements that has made the friendships tighter. A new person comes and there may be a disagreement, but most often that ends up in close friendships too. I think things are portrayed far worse than they are, and unfortunately there are a few that like to perpetuate the idea that the discord as something bigger than it is, especially to the new members.

And it's easy to tell who has off VJ friendships because no matter how rude their friends are, they stick up for them. If you're not a buddy, you are a target. Long-term observation of the dynamics of the discussions has shown that's how it works.

I couldnt agree with you more Jackie. You have been here for a long time and longer than anyone other MENA member for sure. We have had our disagreements and we have moved pass them every time. Thats what friendship is about, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

I have gotten into arguments with almost all my friends friends from VJ but we move past it and don't hold a grudge. We all realize that we have good days, bad days, and days that you just want to crawl under a rock. Friendship isn't all about rainbows and lollypops, there are ups and downs. There isn't a group of buddies here or any kind of clique, these are just long term friendships. Some people think they know about the dynamic of our group but sadly they don't.

Thank you for saying this. I think its so true and not apparent on the surface esp. to new members. Those that want to make it about a secret club are just making it about them and perpetuating the myth of MEAN MENA girls. It's not funny and it harms the members who are just looking for advice and a friendly conversation.

I've noticed that people who always talk about cliques and crowds and cabals are the ones who perceive themselves as not being a part of them. It reminds me of junior high. The people who complained about the cliques the most were the ones who had their own cliques that they formed for the purpose of complaining about the other cliques. To carry on the Mean Girls analogy...if you've seen it, surely you must have seen how mean Janice (the artist friend) was.

I hope people can start seeing past these juvenile labels and recognize that we really are friends here.
