.... I would rather see people get temporary assistance to get them off their feet, than let say steal from me because they are desperate. I get the fact that no system is perfect, and their will always be people who abuse the system.

I agree with this part of your statement. And temporary is the key word.

Raising money from a group is not necessarily the same thing as appealing to them on the level I think you mean. In other words, for example, appealing to the poor might be to raise their benefits. Appealing to the rich might mean lowering their taxes. I don't think Obama made any such promises to the rich.

Depending on what day it is, I've heard he only cares about the rich and forgets the poor. On the other hand, it could be the other way around

It seems that he does both in regards to whichever makes him look worse.

That should be the sign

It is a sign. It is called the 'plus' sign, represented by a cross '+'. The Google can help you sate your curiosity and unawareness to this symbol:

The Surprisingly Short History Of The Plus Sign

Before the 16th century, most math equations were written as metered verse. Thank god for graphic-design-inclined mathematicians.

The study of mathematics has existed since ancient times. Multiplication tables and other math exercises have been found carved into Babylonian tablets from some 3,700 years ago. But the symbols that have become entwined with our conception of math--like the + and = signs--are in fact rather modern inventions.

The simplification of symbols may have aided the rapid acceleration of mathematical progress.

Until around the 16th century, most math was written in metered verse. For thousands of years, even the simplest of math equations was a word problem (not unlike those at the root of much frustration over new Common Core educational standards). A new book by Joseph Mazur, a professor emeritus of mathematics at Marlboro College, explores the surprisingly fascinating evolution of math as a visual practice.

Mazur writes that "mathematical symbols begin as deliberate designs created by mathematicians." The plus sign, originally a shorthand for the Latin word for "and," et, came about in the late 15th century. And intuitive though it seems now, it wasn't easily adopted: It took another hundred years to gain popularity, and there was stiff competition between different cross-like symbols that all meant plus. For instance, "The Maltese cross looks like a fan blade," Mazur explains. to Co.Design."It’s a beautiful thing when you see it printed. The only problem is, if you’re writing this stuff, you want to write it fast. On the blackboard, that will really slow you down."

I seriously gave Obama a chance. I thought he was a pretty good foreign policy president most of the time. Now with some of his latest policies (going around congress to implement his own immigration policies) etc. etc. The guy will be looked back on as a president probably less competent than Jimmy Carter.

And there's nothing wrong with that. Your opinion of him is just that. I don't think he's the greatest thing since sliced bread, but he's not the Antichrist, not by a long shot.

Do you have any data or links to prove he is not the anti-Christ

These are not personal attacks, and were never intended to be. Yours are.

Yeah whatever.

Is this your way of ducking out of the conversation? Claim to be a victim?

He isn't? Man, if you peruse the right wing echo chamber, you would certainly come to a different conclusion - specifically, that he's be the mother of all Antichrists.

Ducking the conversation? Please.... Don't make me laugh. I started this thread. Talk about "ducking" -- you still haven't answered the question posed to you.

However, I no longer care about your answer.

I've answered you. Like I said, I thought it would go way over your head. (not intended to be an insult just making an observation that you do not seem to grasp basic economics)

Just for you, I'll post it again.

If these working people who barely make enough to survive are forced to pay taxes and dig into the money they use to pay their bills, then where do they get the money to pay their bills? From welfare and other social programs, that's where. You're talking about a faction of the population that wants to work and make a living but barely make enough to get by. If you start taking some of their money away for taxes, they will then become dependent on gov't programs to survive, which is what I thought you wanted to prevent, no?

Even with a flat tax there will be a faction of the population who will be tax exempt. Wouldn't you rather have them working and providing for their families, rather than sitting back and sucking off the gov't teet? Not to mention that most of the jobs that these people hold are in the service industries, yanno the food and hotel workers who wait on the white collar workers every day and the construction workers who build our homes?

If you listened to the News during the last election of followed all these unreliable polls you would see that Romney was always ahead of Obama in almost all the poll results in this country. Despite that Obama trashed him in States everyone thought he would win including Florida.

These polls mean nothing, its the elections' that count

Ahh Teddy. Such a passionate guy. Rule with your mind, not your heart.
