Visa application

Hello everyone.

I am a bit confused, I was interviewed at the US Embassy Manila last July 24, 2014 and it went well as there is no any other requirement being asked. And before the consul ended his interview with me, he handed me a pamphlet regarding " Information on the Legal rights Available to Immigrant Victims of Domestic Violence in the Unites States and facts about Immigrating on a Marriage-based visa" since I have never travelled to any country before. After he explained to me the details on the pamphlet, he told me to go back to my seat and wait again till my number is being called on the next window (my number was called at the window 72.) The officer in-charged on that window informed me that my interview process is already finished and that I have to go to window 69 to drop the courier form before leaving the embassy. No special instruction or any 221 (g) form was given to me both during my interview with the consul and with the Filipino officer in-charged on the window 72 so I assumed that my application is approved. But when I checked at the CEAC just this morning, my status is still under refused and it's been 3 days now since my interview date.

I am so worried, why is my case under refused? Any of you experienced this kind of situation?

Also, my other concern is about my medical exam. I had it last June 18, 2014 when do you think will it expire? Because I am planning to leave 2nd week of November if I am granted a US visa so I can attend my daughter's first communion.

Any information from all of you is very much appreciated..

Thank you in advance...

It can easily be a few weeks before your visa is issued and then delivered. It has only been one day since the interview (weekends and holidays don't count), relax (as difficult as that may be) and then check back with CEAC the end of the week. Remember the embassy will be closed on the 29th.

Medical is good for 6 months in regards to the visa, you will be fine with your plan of flying to the USA in November.

Thank you JIJourney & Hank_ for your quick response. I will give you an update about my case. I just really hope that I am not going to have a problem that will lead my application to pending :(

@hank_ I forgot to mention that on the copy of my medical record given by St. Luke's to me, there is an expiration date stated on the right corner about which is Aug. 31, 2014. Should I ignore the date? Does the 6 months validity applies to all applicants?

Not sure what form you are referring to, if it is the DS-3025 the expiration date in the upper right corner is for the form itself - not you.

6 months validity does have exceptions, those that have had the DOT for TB after they complete the 2nd medical only have 90 days of validity in regards to the visa.

Yes Hank_ it is, the DS 3025 form I am referring to. I have attached a photo and highlighted the portion of my concern.

Glad to know that the expiration date stated in the form is not for me.

Thank you Hank...

Yes that is the expiration for the form, not for you. All is fine.

Thank you Gemini.. I had been waiting for this for so long. I myself was in AP/AR for a year and a half. Had to undergo 2 interviews and 2 medicals before I received the good news. But patience is a virtue, all we have to do is wait and give them the necessary papers they needed so they can process our application and proceed to the next level.

Good luck to you.. You will have it soon.. Don't worry

I'm confused. You said you were in AP right? But you also said that the interview went well and did not ask anything from you. So how did you know that you were under AP? Did they hand you a 221 (g) form?

AP stands for Administrative Processing if I'm not mistaken. Please correct me if I misunderstood your post.

I see.. Well, so do I. I also freaked out when I saw my status was under REFUSED. I was like, how could that be my last interview went well, did not ask anything from me except to go home (hahaha).

Anyway, since there is no problem with your interview, then you'll be fine. Check back the site again on Wednesday
