DS-230

My friends at fastk3 said I need to wait for the DS-230 to arrive and actualy use the form they send me. The form I have here (In PDF format) expires in July of 2007 and it is already completed. Why cant I use that? And why can't I send it in to NVC after receiving word the DS-230 has been generated?

NVC officially says not to send in anything other than their own forms, but if you're comfortable with using the James' shortcuts, there's no reason to wait. They just don't want people sending in outdated or incomplete forms.

Hi,

The other thing you want to make sure of is that you send the appropriate documents with the DS230.. depending on which consulate the DS230 will be going, they may require additional paper work to be submited with the DS230.. along with the bar code cover sheet

James shortcuts works my case was just approved and I used it on DS230. Don't forget to right your case number in the top right hand corner of each page. You will also need biographical page from your spouses passport.

The other thing you want to make sure of is that you send the appropriate documents with the DS230.. depending on which consulate the DS230 will be going, they may require additional paper work to be submited with the DS230.. along with the bar code cover sheet

You are so right on this one. Our case is pretty much like what you described, we had to send in the barcode and additional paperwork along with part 1 and part 2 of the DS-230 to the NVC.

Yes they are correct. You are filing for Philippines and o must file both the ds-230 part I and II along with very specific original/certified documents. Be very careful with that....if I were you I would rely more on other people here who are/have gone through the preocess than "fastk3" people who probably haven't...its also been my experience with some so called immigration lawyers, that they really don't know the specifics of each country and thier requirments....your better off doing it yourself and saving the money.

As they had said, the needs for the Philippines are very specific, and not well worded as I had found out.
