How do they decide what location will process your K1Visa?

It is not necessarily based on address of the petitioner. I am the petitioner, I live in California and our petition was sent and processed at the Nebraska Service Center when it was backlogged and California was flying through them. So it is not necessarily based on that. Not sure on what's the criteria to decide the service center.

I have seen a few FL residents at the CPC.....why is that?

There is no rhyme or reason as to why petitions get transferred. If you search through the timelines, you'll see that folks who originally should have been at TSC were transferred to CSC, and there doesn't seem to be a pattern as to why. Petitioners cannot request a transfer, so it's at the whim of USCIS.

They mostly follow the locations as I posted, but not always. No reasons given as to why some do not. One member here claims to have been sent to Vermont, even though Vermont no longer currently processes the I-129F. Also, sometimes people simply put the wrong information in their profiles. Perhaps they listed FL as where they live, but they sent the petition from another address. Who knows, but typically the sorting follows the location pattern.

And some people still believe they mail their petitions to the TSC and if it ends up at the CSC, then they think they were transferred. They enter wrong info in their profiles because they mistakenly believe the Dallas Lockbox is the TSC.

Completely different visa type. We're talking about K1s. I130s are dealt with differently.
