Visa Approved over a week, still didn't receive passport!

I was approved Immigrant visa on July 15th, 2014, visa was Issued(printed) on July 16th, 2014. the status on the ceac website keeps updating the date and the status "Issued" remains, but I haven't received my passport yet! How long does it take for the US Embassy in Islamabad to send the Passport.

Congrat on getting your visa! My husband received his passport about a week after the ceac site changed to Issued. I know they had issues the beginning of this week with the visa issuance system worldwide so yours may have gotten hung up in that and may take a few more days.

Congrats on getting your visa. There was a crash on the global visa system that was in the news on Thursday so right now they are having delays.

Passport always send by embassy within 2 days after visa stamp !

Visa print is does not mean that its stamp on your passport !

It will deliver when stamp and due to current situation may be they have some problems with printed visas which is taking time !!!

I emailed the Embassy at Islamabad on July 18th, 2014, and this is what they replied!

"Our record indicates that your visa has been issued and sent to you through our approved courier on July 16, 2014. You will soon be contacted by the courier."

I contacted the approved courier service i.e. The American Express, & they said that they have not received anything up till now, as soon as they do, they will contact me!

Then again on July 25th, 2014, I emailed the Embassy that the courier service says that they have not received anything up till now, and this is what they replied to me!

I got 2 calls from an un-known number, but I was driving, so I missed 2 calls. Now I don't know if it was from Embassy or somewhere else!

"It has been advised that you should contact our approved courier office (list attached) for your passport and the visa packet. Your contact information was not valid in our record."

None of these things emails is making sense to me right now!

Everything is closed this week for Eid, including the embassy and including the AmEx courier service. The courier service will re-open on Friday.

Received by Embassy: 7/21/2014 - Status: READY

Packet 3.5: 7/24/2014

Packet 3.5 Sent: 8/7/2014 (We had delays because of civil unrest in Pakistan)

Embassy Receive: 8/21/2014 (Again delays due to civil unrest)

Receive Appointment Letter/Interview Date: 8/27/2014 (interview date in just 9 days)!

Medical Exam: 8/29/2014 (Yikes! The whole thing has now been postponed for 2 months for TB testing)

Guess what guys, my Husband got his visa on Monday which was July 28th :) It was delayed only because, they wrote wrong info the envelope so they couldn't contact my husband due to that. Thank God it has been taken care off. He's flying to U.S soon :)
