Hi just want people's experience with scheduling interview at santo Domingo for k1 visa. How much time pass before you receive a date for interview? My petition arrived in santo Domingo on 16 July and then all my information was put in computer system on July 18th. As of today they don't have interview date for me. They told me to check back within the next two weeks. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

My papers arrived to santo Domingo on november 20, 2013 and on december 31 they e-mailed me my interview date. Almost one month later they gave me my interview by e-mail.

Dont waste money calling them, just e-mail them in one month and I am sure they will have your interview date.

One thing is sure your interview date it will be on 3 or 4 month.

My papers arrived on november 2013 and my interview was scheduled for march 18, 2014.

the average time to have an interview date in DR is 4 months after your papers arrived at the consulate.

And congratulations that your papers are at the consulate, now you have to wait less than at the begin.

You need to wait a litle more and it is over. :)

My appoinment letter arrived on january 30, 2014.

With this letter your fiancee pay at banco popular and go to do the medical exam at consultorios de visas.

Once you know your interview date, and if the appoinment letter hasnt arrived one month before your interview, you e-mail them and tgey will send the letter by e-mail.

Just one month before the interview.

Here's my timeline for NOA2 to Interview coied from my signature.

July 18, 2013 ~ NOA2 - Petition Approved ~ No Text ~ No Email ~ Just showed up in the mail on July 22nd

Aug 6, 2013 ~ Sent to NVC

Aug 8, 2013 ~ Rec'd at NVC & Embassy specific Case Number Assigned (Call Visa Specialist at 202-485-7600 (Press 1 then 0)

Aug 12, 2013 ~ "In Transit" Status DOS Site ~ Sent Electronically Check Here: https://ceac.state.g...er/Status.aspx?

Aug 14, 2013 ~ "Ready" Status on DOS site (meaning Rec'd by Consulate/Embassy)
Sep 3, 2013 ~ Interview Date rec'd (for 2+ months later) by (Call Visa Specialist at 202-485-7600 (Press 1 then 0)
Sep 21, 2013 ~ Packet 4 Hardcopy rec'd via US Mail - Fiancee didn't receive his had to pick up a reprint at Embassy.

NOTE: Actual sent date unknown due to lawyer negligence - I delivered ALLForms and PAID Lawyer on Nov 7, 2012 - Lawyer kept saying he sent the packet and USCIS must have lost it. When in reality he failed to send the package and only a new copy to USCIS after I made a legal written demand giving him 10 days to perform or return ALL monies paid to him, due to "non-performance".

(IMO it's better to save your money for visits to or from your Fiancé and just fill it out yourself using the K-1 Guide on VJ and Senior Members... They Rock!!!)

I called NVC on June 6; they told me our case was complete and en route to STO DGO. I was told to wait for an email with further instructions/interview date and to call back in 2 weeks if I heard nothing. Well, I received an email at 1AM Thursday June 12 with our date...July 28...Yes, I'm here with the hubby now...We go tomorrow!

We were approved! The waiting processes was rather complicated b/c many ppl who were rescheduled from last Monday were there today. So now we relax and hope the processing goes well. All in all...it was a good day!

Here is what I did.

I kept checking the CEAC web site. Everytime you call them, they will open up your file and usually tell you, "No, no interview date yet" ... and your case status will update. So what you do instead is wait ... and check the CEAC web site. Then once it does update, you can call the NVC and see if your interview date has been scheduled. This is how I found out my interview date, instead of emailing the consulate everytime.

The appointment letter arrived like 3 weeks later.

Jan 25, 2014: I-129F Sent

Feb 13, 2014: NOA1

Apr 15,2014: NOA2 Notice Via USCIS Web Site

Apr 22, 2014: NOA2 Received In Postal Mail

Apr 28: 2014: NVC Received

Apr 30: 2014: NVC Left

May 09, 2014: Embassy Received

Jul 08, 2014: Interview - Approved - CEAC Status Ready

Jul 14 2014: CEAC updated but still READY Status

Jul 16 2014: CEAC Status changed to Administrative Processing

Jul 22 2014: CEAC Status changed to Issued

Jul 28 2014: VISA received

Aug 06 2014: U.S. Arrival (Ft. Lauderdale POE)

Children (3 kids)

Apr 28 2015: Filed I130 petition for each child

Aug 21 2015: Notice from USCIS that all 3 petitions transferred to California Service Center

Sep 17 2015: Approval for all 3 petitions

Nov 12 2015: Paid one AOS fee for all 3 children

Nov 13 2015: Paid separate IV fees for all 3 children

Dec 04 2015: Filed Affidavit of Support (I864) for each child

Jan 12 2016: Received RFE for missing birth certificate from one of the kids packet

Jan 13 2016: Sent in RFE evidence ( birth certificate copy .... again O_o )

Jan 19 2016: Received notice that they received the RFE evidence

Feb 22 2016: Called and found out another RFE was being sent out about birth certificate

Feb 24 2016: Sent in (inextensa versions, not de acta versions) of birth certificates for all children

Mar 02 2016: Received notice that they received the RFE evidence

Mar 11 2016: NVC Process finished, now awaiting interview time slot to be scheduled

Mar 29 2016: Called NVC and found out today they scheduled interview

Apr 01 2016: Received Packet 4 notice via e-mail with interview date

Apr 25 2016: Children received P4 letters in the mail

May 19 2016: Interview

Jun 03 2016: Received Visas

Jul 06 2016: Travel to US
