I AGREE!!! WHO IS GOING TO GET WITH ME TO PROTEST IMMIGRATION?!!! IF EVERYONE ON HERE WERE TO WRITE, CONDI RICE A LETTER EXPRESSING THEIR CONCERN, I THINK IT IS SOMETHING. WE AS Americans CAN NOT SIT BACK AND LET THIS CONTINUE!! IF IT HAPPENS TO ONE IT HAPPENS TO ALL!!

WOW, I am a MENA girl and I have heard of fuard but i still wished that I knew how they got the numbers with the high fuard etc. Who tells them information or where do they get there information from. I have heard that most Nigerians do this but I have also heard of most Moroccans doing it. They deny a lot of cases in Morocco and I was told that when they do this and it is returned to the USCIS I hear that a lot of the petitions just die. The US citizen moves or or the Moroccan man. But I feel like this, when you deny a true union and these two people, in our case are muslim and it is not a natural nor is it encouraged for muslims to go a long time with your spouse. I know that we are trying but it is so hard. But I ws thinking, if i was getting paid and we got denied wouldn't I just call him and tell him and see if he wants to make up some information???? The USCIS will send me the letter right, well all i will do is just call the person and tell them and if it was really worth the money I would help him get it. This is what confusses me beucase I have heard of several faurd marriages and I want to know how to report it.

I am so upset and hurt by everything and confussed at the same time. I mean hearding this board I am starting to find some sympathy with the COs. (OF ALL THINGS. :o And I hate those people.) But I will say this maybe people need to be punished I see that the Couslar Corps and the USCIS have two different things going on. I do not think that the rude manner and the probing questions are necessary. I believe that the USC should have some say over the person they are bring over. Another is the culture I know a friend he went and married a Nigerian girl beucase he said he could not deal with the culutre differences of the American woman. I believe that Moroccans are a little better at this, but I know they do the same. It seems that becuase a relationship fails people seem to always go with the fuard. America does not have the same morals nor vaule system and when you think about it, people normally divorce after about 2 to 5 years.

I do not think that the US should make the country so applying and that they should not give some who came to the US the right to become a citizen if the SO was abused they shoudl go back to there country. I know that may seem hard but why did they come here, to be married not pursue other opportunities right???? It seems like they put two in the same. I asked my fiance what happens if we do not work out if he was here and he said that he wants to be married and if we are not together, he go back to easy life in Morocco. America he says sounds like a hard place and life in Africa is easy compared to here. Alot though we have a lot of money (debt) we are not that great and it seems that people are really abusing and using others to get what they want. I wonder what would happen if they did not get the citizenship or if they where more restricted. I also believe the USCIS should interview the petitioner and that we should be place under the microscope you know. I am not saying that someone with less should be treadted differently than some with more, but the motives of people should be place out there.

I am willing to do a lie detector test, I am willing to be interviewed and I am willing to give you a few tell all pics if this would get my guy her. However, if I ever in my mind thing that he is using me. I believe I would stop it right before it started.

It seems that the Immgration process places you in a different mode of thinking. It is a different kind of relationship. When you remove the visa and everything else what do you have????? I wished that people would not behave this way and I am not sure how to resolve the problem. But I will say this a lot of conseuling with the couples should be given and alot of support is needed. I also think they shoudl have the prison time just deal with if for two years and then you will get the green card. Because this is what it sounds like is going on. What I do not understand is why woudl America want these people to stay in the US if they are lairs, you know.

I think that more should be done at home. It seems like the approvals go through and people think they have a marriage. I mean if the embassy wants me to make a home porn just let me know, they can have it if this is what they want. But this really tells about how the US does not trust us and how we should not trust them. I wonder why do people help stay in the US. I hear a lot of sad stories of someone coming here and they need etc. But you know in the end these people are lairs. I think that the ability to become a citizen shoudl be taken away and other things should come in to play. I think they should

Seems like it might be time to re-read William33 and Yodrak's comments from November on this topic . . . it's more than obvious that you would be wasting your time storming the embassy or "protesting immigration" and that a qualified, experienced attorney would be a more effective move at this point.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...c=40158&hl=

Nigeria is the highest fraud country that the US State Department operates in. Why do you feel compelled to continually blame the Consular staff for your difficulties?

How much time have you actually spent in Nigeria? Personally, I have spent over 6 months in Nigeria, over a period of 4 years. I can personally attest to the problems that the Consular Section deals with on a daily basis. Your allegations are completely unfounded.

I suggest you spend less time complaining and more time seeking an Attorney to fix your case

NaijaPrincess Need NaijaPrince,

It is not the consular section in Lagos that is "fraudulent" - it is a large proportion of Nigerian visa applicants who are fraudulent.

The first step to resolving your problem is to recognize that fact.

You must have searched all day to find the post from Yodrak. That was months ago. For your information, there are no more fraudulant people in Nigeria than in the US. So for the CO's in the Embassy in Lagos to do corupt things just as all "fraudulant" people in Nigeria it makes them no better than them. In the US our motto is "Innocent until proven guilty" not guilty until proven innocent. If you must know that Mexicans are very corupt. They come to the US under false names just like Nigerians but the only difference is the Nigerians are here legally with fake names. It is so very unfair for a Mexican to cross over the boarder illegally and come to the US and benefit from tax payers earnings.

If it were possible I would form a union for Nigerians, Indians or another dark country to come up thru Mexico and live illegally in the US. I bet that wall would go up very quick then. It is unfair for a certain type of people to come into America illegaly while others are doing things the proper way and have to go through b/s to get here.

Thanks for your post and the time it took you to dig that up.

PS An attorney would not do any good. Except take my money. It is only when a group of people march together that laws and ways things are done changes the current situations.(ex. Martin Luther King,Jr.)

No Nigeria is not the only country with fraud or scams or what ever you would like to call it. BUT Nigerians fraudulent behavior is getting ALOT of press lately here in the US. From 60 minutes to Dr Phil. Hey go to the 60 minutes website and you can easily find the stories. So that is the focus right now NIGERIAN FRAUD!! It is no secret that Nigeria is corupt right down to thier government. Are they the only country like that? NO, but right now they are getting the press about it. I have watched the shows myself, and I think "Wow these Americans are dumb" people really fall for some foolish things. I have been in Nigeria in the internet cafes and HEARD IT WITH MY OWN EARS. I have had people yell at us when we were walking how my fiance is "scamming the white lady for money!" Nigerians know that Nigerians are con aritsts, or scammers as they say. When the press lays off Nigeria and moves onto something else then maybe things will calm down. Are all Nigerians scammers no of course not. There are plenty of wonderfull Nigerians I have met many many many.

Heather,

you are so right. A lot of times I have had to say to myself also that these Americans are dumb when they fall for the scamming business that nigerians do online. I've been to the internet cafes myself while there and saw it for myself also. But u know what I've concluded from this....when a nigerian scams someone using 419 for money, the victim gets scammed b/c they are being just as greedy. Case in point, here in my own city a few people were sent bogus emails from nigeria claiming they are the son of some rich guy and they need ur bank acct info so they can send the money in ur acct ....(u all know the drill). well anyway, some "dumb" americans here fell for it and they got scammed big time. Well guess what, they were also charged by the police here and i feel they deserved it. Because u know darn well, u can't get something for nothing. they were trying to get rich themself offer someone. And I have to agree with u on the part about mexicans. How many of them are here illegal and they are rapidly outgrowing (population) americans. I mean black and white americans, especially in Texas. Texas may as well be a part of Mexico!!! If they spent as much time on border patrol there as they do spending time coming up w/all sorts of b/s at that embassy in Lagos, there would not be as many illegal Mexicans here.

A good marriage begins when both partners feel they got better than they deserve~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Wow. I didn't search all day - I remembered that William had experience in Nigeria. Your posts indicate that you believe that there is no fraud in Nigeria and therefore no reason for the behavior of the CO. Instead you appear to think the COs are just out to get you. My point was simply that storming the embassy is not going to result in anything good for you, but perhaps a good lawyer could be of help.

Whether or not there is fraud in Mexico has nothing to do with anything here.

Best of luck in changing immigration in Nigeria.

Low Fraud Consulates

Medium Fraud Consulates

High Fraud Consulates

overall, the CO's in Nigeria are not abusing the rights of the US citizen, but trying to determine if a relationship is fraudulent, particularly when the petitioner may not even be aware of it. The ways they do this may be unpleasant, therefore embarrasing for you also. However, nobody has the " right" to go to any country just because they married someone or want to. But every country in the world knows that the fastest way to the USA is via engagement or marriage. ANd every consulate in the world knows that the citizens of some countries are infamous for how shameless they are in trying to get in that way.

Your relationship is solid, just give them what they want. My guess is when you are cuddled up with your man one day in the future, you wont be giving a damn whats going on with the US consulate in Lagos!

When the CO abuses my husband he is abusing me as well. I am aware that Nigeria has fraud but the point is there is no more fraud in Nigeria than in America. US Embassys are known world wide for denying countries of dark color. Nigeria's government may be corupt but look at our own!!! A fraudulant government will invade Iraq and tell its own country men that it is for the good of Iraq. But in reality it is to make him and his stupid buddies well worth billions of dollars. Don't believe watch in the up and coming years.

For your information, my husband and I have given them every piece of evidence imagine. It is that I am not rich and he is not rich so we get this run around. Believe me, the experience that we have had we will not be cuddling on the couch but marching for others so they don't have to go through this unreasonable ######!!!

Also, my husband went for his CR1 interview on Thursday which he was invited to by the Embassy. The CO looked him in the face laughed and asked him what he was doing there and gave him a denial without looking at any evidence. Now if anyone can sit up here and tell me that what that CO did was correct, please tell me what type of "crack" you are smoking. I sure need what you are smoking!!!

THAT WAS VERY RUDE & UNCALLED FOR!!!

However, nobody has the " right" to go to any country just because they married someone or want to. I WILL BE DAMNED. I PAY TAXES & CONTRIBUTE TO THE COUNTRY'S WELL BEING!!!

Honestly, I can sympathize and even empathize with most of what you are saying, but must we get into the dark color comments? It takes a great deal of the credibility out of the point that you are trying to make. The US does have a history of denying visas from poor countries based upon their track records, and no it isn't fair, but it has happened. The trend is focused on poor countries, not countries of dark color.

Girlfriend I feel you. I do not know how to express myself on the board without bring up painful memories. However it is not just the dark countries. But the dark people. I am going through Morocco and if you do fit a certain thing then you are returned. I believe truely this I will share with you may research and findings on this in PM please read. And let me know what you think. I know that the embassy may be hard but I think that it is the fault of the peopel that came before. Not only this but a lot of embassies have fuard. It is funny how they did not attempt to arrest all the million man march the immgrates had and deport them. The power that is being taking away is real and you know when you are taking away from "ruling class" they will make any reason no matter how small. I honestly feel like if you look at the problems that the dark countries have it was caused by the light ones.

I apologize my intent was not to be rude...

I agree that its not fair how people with legitmate relationships are treated but that the way has been paved by others before who were not.

I was under the impression from another post that they were only waiting on some other evidence from you.?

I also wonder that part of the " tactic" is to test the perserverence, which is why I agree with the other posters that any kind of action against the consulate would not benefit you.

yes of course YOU as a US citizen have the right to petition for your spouse... but for the beneficiaries, there are no rights within the USA just because we got married or enagaged. I was agreeing with the others that your anger and frustration which is totally understandable, is not tied into " rights"

my last comment re the "cuddlin on the couch ", was trying to say think of the future, you'll get there.

I really do hope it works out for you.

Most of you know my husband has had his interview on Thursday. This is what went down. He got there & got into the waiting room. The previous CO saw him and greeted him & then went over to the CO that was to interview him today and told him something. Then the CO that was suppose to interview him called him over and asked him what are you doing here? The CO laughed and gave him a denial letter. My husband said that he told the CO he thought this was an interview. The CO did not ask him for any documentation or nothing. The COs have enough evidence to proove that the relationship is bone a fide. They had it in Sept during the 1st interview and my senator faxed them additional evidence to support the relationship as bone a fide. Why is it still in administrative processing when the CO has evidence to suppport what he questioned in the beginning? The period of courtship. This is what is truely stressing me out. If I were rich, don't you know that I could pay someone. Money talks. It is unfair that myself and others must go through this when it is unfair.

Lisa- I appreciate your last post. Thank you. I am truely frustraed beyond words. The experience I am going through will not be forgotten no matter how much we cuddle if and when he gets here. There is a bill proposed to limit the time frame on administrative processing. I support it whole heart!! It is stupid to have to wait in limbo like this. I know others have gotten paid to marry. I don't know how else that we can do to proove the realness of our relationship.

Private-I agree with you. America is a racist country and always will be. If people of color are to come up thru Mexico, don't you know that THAT wall will come up quick?!!!

I want people on VJ to know that NO we don't have to take it!!! We pay taxes, are citizens and have equal say. Look at it this way......How many of you have ever had a roommate? Possibly everyone on here. You and your roommate make the rules and pay the bills equally. Can you tell your roommate who he/she can bring into your home? No, not if they are paying equal shares. You may get upset and tell him/her that they may have one more time or you will move out or you may set up times for visitors. The same applies for us as citizens. I contribute equally to this nation so I should have the say as to who comes into the country. I should be allowed to bring at least 1 person into my homeland.

As a US Citizen you have the right to file a petition for your fiance or spouse. An approved petition allows your fiance or spouse the priviledge of interviewing for an immigrant visa. Unfortunately, being a US citizen does not give you the right to say " who comes into the country". That is the job of the US Consulate and the Department of Homeland Security.

If your husband was treated rudely and poorly by a consulate employee, which clearly he was, you have the right to complain, either to American Citizens services at the Consulate directly or by getting in touch with the Director of the International USCIS offices.

All USCIS office websites have contact information for complaints -- have you tried to contact someone in DC? Might be worth the effort to locate a phone number. Good luck.

If you feel you were mistreated by an immigration employee, or wish to make a complaint of misconduct by an immigration employee, you may write to the District Director, or write directly to the

Director, Office of International Operations

20 Massachusetts Ave., NW

Suite 3300

Washington, DC 20529

Or write to the Director, Office of Internal Audit, 425 I Street, NW, Room 3260, Washington, DC 20536.
