Mom's sputum at July 2-4 but ceac website says ready for interview last July 9

Sputum test was until July 4 but when I checked ceac webtsite it said it is ready for interview and it was last updated July 9 does it mean that the tests are in negative or ceac just updated their website late? Or is it really really ready for interview?

Hi!

Need a bit more infor before I can give a fair response.

Was this the first set of tests? Or is this a re-test?

Has she had her Interview at the Embassy yet?

If it's the initial elimination sputum tests then that's just the embassy making notes in the case.

Either way the Medical Examiner will be the one to update you on the results first then send the results to the Embassy.

Mom's xray had a spot or something like a black spot on it and at first they said she have tb she should have to give 3 sets of sputum in 3 days (1 each day). Now we're waiting for the results. I am curious what it said at the ceac website so I tried to log in at ceac.state.gov then I saw those message. Does it matter what it said at ceac website? Her interview was postponed, it depends on the results whether positive or negative. We are hoping for the neg. results so that she can proceed to her interview and this case s done:-)

She doesn't have an interview date yet. The interview date will be scheduled AFTER the 8-week sputum culture is completed (for negative results).

If SLEC calls her before the 8-week culture is over, chances are the sputum is positive which will lead to the 6-month TB treatment.

Its best that she finishes the 8-week culture. Good luck!

That's just a generic message for everyone. That was our status for MONTHS... both before our interview and after and only now does it say AP. I hope this helps and that the results come back TB Negative!!

After they do Sputum test, they will tell you how long the culture will take and will give you instructions when and who to call for your next step. It took 6weeks for my mom after her sputum exam for her schedule to call. (but if they call you before the scheduled date, it means the Sputum exam is positive with TB). It was July 28, so we called, and she needs to go back to St. Luke's clinic for the rest of the steps for her medical exam which is vaccination on July 30. Then they gave her her x-ray cd result, then told her to have her interview schedule either we call the US embassy hotline or set-up interview schedule using their website. So we did call the hotline, made the earliest date available and received appointment notice in the email and have it printed out because she needs to bring it on her interview. It serves as the appointment letter.
