so, demonizing islam/muslims to young children in sunday school over the entirety of their childhood and constant fear mongering of entire congragations from the pulpit will have no lasting effect on the path of history? i thought for sure that teaching small impressionable minds to be prepared to war for the one true god tended to cause trouble. but whew...

I think those fears are overblown. We have a case study in India and Pakistan. Education at all levels is deeply nationalistic, deeply anti-the-other-side. And yet, almost 70 years have passed, both countries have nukes, and nothing terrible has happened.

Apparently, grown adults are capable of being grown ups. Who knew.

I grew up in the South and was made to go to Church and SS almost every Sunday. I honestly don't recall the Muslim faith ever coming up one time. I do recall hearing that out of wedlock sex, drugs and alcohol would send you straight to hell. Also heard a lot about giving the 10%. and Jesus coming back.

If 100% of all humans became Atheist tomorrow, would the whole world be better or worse off ?

Yeah right. I have one or two primitive baptist types on my FB, from back home. I know who they are at that's about it. They are so freaking scared to death of gays it is absurd. They post so much gay bashing #######, and do it in the name of the lord. I want to call them out, but I just loathe to do it on FB with 400+ friends, many of whom were my moms friends etc. They also post every news story of any black man committing a crime ever.

The damn EX-mayor came on the other day and said he would never pull for Jeff Gordon again, because he heard he was gay. You can't make up this kind of stupidity

do anything about it? isn't more about full grown adults feeling justified in hating all people of a certain religion and viewing them as dogs of the devil? placing more worth on an unborn fetus than a foreign baby, simply because of what imaginary friend their parents tout? i think it's super dangerous.

Well, you can't get rid of it, that's impossible. But you can take solace in the fact that with each generation of Christian's world wide, there are less and less "Spanish inquisition" types. Ya know? You know you're talking to an Atheist right?

Israel use to have higher casualty rates that ran about 75% civilian (744 out of 1100 from the year 2000 on).. After the second intifada in 2005 they built up the walls and took other measure to protect their own civilian population. After that casualties on the Israel side dropped dramatically. No doubt eventually Hamas will find away to once again up the casualties. The newer rockets are a start...

Me too. But I'll take the do nothing Christians of the South or the suicide bombing Muslims of the East any day. One's really annoying and frustrating. The other one kills people.
