It seems like they have gotten behind. The EAD were coming in less than 2 months but now they are taking 75 days or more.

My husband called USCIS on Friday. He told.them he was frustrated waiting. He was told that he would get a letter in 30 days in response to his call. So, basically nothing happened. The agent was very kind and she spoke plainly. The previous week I spoke to an agent with such a deep southern accent that I could barely understand her....and I am from Texas! I had to tell her to speak slowly. It is weird that USCIS does not train agents to speak plainly and clearly. I cannot imagine a non-American being able to understand her Bottom line: We wait. :-)

78 days we have waited for EAD and still waiting.

Totally understand, my wife called yesterday as her application is being processed at the NSC. My wife told me she had a hard time understanding the person on the phone because she talked to fast used a lot of slang and had an accent. My wife speak excellent English, so I believe that this call center people should be trained how to have a conversation as they should be well aware that a lot of foreign spouses will be calling.

Also when my wife called asking about here EAD it had been 93 days and all the person could tell here was she would submit for information about the EAD. It is disappointing that they are reporting that 3 months is the current time frame for EADs to be processed. if they are getting backed up they need to update all pertinent information regarding the backup. The lady told my wife "that she should receive a text or email within 13 days if not call back". I thought that was an odd amount of days to tell someone, why not 1 week, 2 weeks, 30 days. Just odd on the day count. My wife really wants to work as she is really bored at home, and I cannot blame here as she has always worked since she graduated college.

I just hope they can get their stuff together and start taking care of people that have been waiting for a long time and stop jacking them around. I know some people that have been waiting longer them me and they are extremely frustrated, and I don't blame them.

88 days but we have some news.. Mohamed received an Email yesterday that stated his EAD application is on hold pending response to RFE. He phoned and told them he had no RFE for the EAD. He was told he would have to talk to the next level of representatives. He opted for a callback because the wait was 56 minutes. By the time they called back, I had the phone with me and Mohamed was at home. Mohamed called back after I got home and we started over to explain the issue. The first representative was some kind of joker or weirdo...he was talking in some kind of affected way like a tv cop or military guy . He was oddly confrontational. I asked Moh to ask him if I could talk to him. I began correcting his errors. He became rude and barked that there were so many calls and he did not have time to listen again. I calmly told him that he was not accurately summarizing what Moh was telling him. Then the call dropped ;-) We called back and got a normal person who was polite and helpful. She told us that the EAD was in suspension because of the RFE on the AOS. We had been misinformed previously. The AOS RFE DOES PUT THE EAD AND AP CASES IN SUSPENSION. So...now we know the problem. She also told us that when they receive the requested additional information for the AOS, it can take up to 60 days to take all of the cases out of suspension. I will inform the joint sponsor to HURRY with her documents so we can move forward. Thanks to the polite, knowledgeable and helpful representative ar USCIS. :-)

For me , I still received my EAD card while my AOS is still under RFE. I think not all the cases are the same,

Thanks Michelle, I was thinking we were being given an extra hard time. It did not make sense that we were told the RFE did not matter and then told it did matter. Our RFE is about a joint sponsor needing to submit more documents. What was RFE about? ]

My RFE is also about I-864 , asked to submit 2013 tax return , W2 ....only different is we didn't go for joint sponsor but you are. It's very stange as EAD card is for those who their I 485 is pending I don't know why it''s becoming a matter that they hold your EAD production.

Update: We spoke with more reps today...including tier 2. We discovered that our app is on hold pending their receipt of the RFE. It is because the RFE was generated on the AOS before a EAD was approved. I think that is fair...it would have been better if we knew that before so we could express the urgency to the joint sponsor...but it seems fair. The tier 2 explained that USCIS will have 60 days to approve the work permit after they receive the RFE documents for the AOS. We can wait more :-)

Perhaps USCIS want to make sure everything is all right since you have submitted the joint sponsor. But that's the good news as I think they will speed your EAD as soon as the receipt of your RFE.

Yes. I think that is correct. The joint sponsor did not know to be speedy because I told them they had 87 days to gather the documents. They have been extra busy with cariing for elderly relatives 5 hours away....so the last 6 weeks have been very busy for them. I do not want to bother them with urgency on this because I know they are stressed. We will get the RFE in right under the deadline. No nervousness here :D....just strolling on the visajourney :-P
