has anyone ever posted someting to USCIS without a stamp??

Ok... So i got my advanced parole stuff ready to send out... got to the post box, put it in, and then my lovely husband pointed out that I didn't put a stamp on it..... How stupid am I?????

Soooo, does anyone know if USPS will just bin it? Or send it to USCIS and expect them to pay postage? I also didn't put a return address on it... I feel so stupid right now!

If you wrote a return address on it, the post office will just return it to you requesting postage.

I always take things like this to the post office, and send it priority mail with certified, and return card, that way I don't have to worry about getting the correct postage on the envelope.

I sense that with no postage and no return address it will go to the dead letter office. What happens then I do not know.

I would reccomend that whenever you send something to USCIS you take it to the post office yourself and send it certified mail with a return receipt.

I know, I know, I just didn't want to queue up at the Post Office, serves me right for being impatient I guess!

If I get approved pending FBI namecheck.... Do I still need advanced parole to return to the US? Or is it possible to make an inforpass appointment just on the grounds that you were approved pending FBI namecheck? I got home after my posting disaster to an appointment letter for the 6th March (which would be too late to apply for advanced parole for May 5th)

I'm just having one of those days today... Thank goodness I didn't send any original documents in the envelope!!

Mneh, thought so, still have to faff about with EAD and AP when you're in FBI name check. Guess I better get ready to send another letter to USCIS and cancel the check in the one that is probably lost forever!

It's always a good idea to send it with delivery confirmation. That way, if USCIS loses it, you have proof that you filed.

I've done the same thing but with a bill and what the post office did was open the envelope and get my address and they sent it back to me. It took a while to get it back and I was quite surprised when it arrived. Fantastic news about getting an interview date!
